Welcome to Component #2 of ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’: Motivation
Motivation Defined: 1-the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.2-the general desire or willingness of someone to do something 3- It’s about acting in a way that accomplishes a specific goal and it holds out the offer of a reward, a reason or a motivation for that action 4-Motivation is about moving people to take action if not immediately, then within the very near future 5-By necessity, you have to keep motivating yourself and people over and over again.
Motivation vs. Inspiration: Inspiration is something that you feel on the inside, while motivation is something from the outside that compels you to take action. Inspiration is a driving force, while motivation is a pulling force.
“Do you want people to act and to act now? Then motivate them. Do you want people to become something better or bigger than they are now? Then inspire them” Christopher Witt .
Whether your day is wrapped in business challenges or personal challenges, the effect of opposing and disruptive forces could take an extreme toll on your physical energy, mental hardiness and your general performance efficiency. In other words, these challenges could knock the wind out of you at the least convenient time.
Having access to an impenetrable protective capsule that automatically washes over you at the flick of a switch and is responsible for protecting you from mental and physical harm, has a few more years in the making but for now, we have the next best thing: Motivation and its 8 companions, that together make up ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ and ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ . Both concepts can be found here on ItsAllPossible.com . See below as well for more on this.
Motivation doesn’t eliminate the discomfort experienced by “putting yourself out there and risking yourself.” It mitigates the discomfort. It empowers you. It alleviates the stress and anxiety levels. It emancipates and acclimates your mental connection to fear and self-doubt. It produces renewable energy after a few hours of retreat and recovery.
The Bottom Line: Motivation is a primo enabler. Its power will encourage you and provide you with mental and physical sustenance on your journey and give you the mental and physical strength to forge ahead towards making all your dreams come true.
A Simple Fact: When your motivation level exceeds your discomfort level then your ability to do what needs to be done is achievable.
How Does Motivation Work: Anyone who has ever had a simple goal or has dreamt of achieving extreme and extraordinary objectives probably suspects that simply having the desire to accomplish something is not enough. You’re suspicions are correct.
Achieving your goals and making your dreams come true is a process, many times a rough and tumble process, but a process worth exploring and experiencing.
SideBar: The tools used to precipitate, energize and activize the process is made up of 9 essential components . . . No one component is more important than the other. The aggregate of these 9 components will get you started . . . keep you going. . . and help you reach all your goals.
Your Success Support Arsenal: ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ gets you to the starting gate; ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ gets you to the finish line. Both concepts can be found here on www.itsallpossible.com
Here’s how it lays out:
- Phase 1: The t.r.i.p Concept: Truth + Reality + Inspiration+ Positivity
- Phase 2: The i.m.a.p.p Concept: Inspiration + Motivation + Action + People + Persistence
- Phase 3: The two concepts begin working in tandem and now in phase 3 they’re working en masse. Combining all the elements in both concepts creates a firm foundation for a very compelling Success Support Arsenal.
All the components in both concepts must be working simultaneously to enable your Success Quest to proceed continuously and effortlessly. They must be working collectively to provide your Success Quest with the fortitude and clear course of action needed to eventually drop anchor at a point in time, where all your goals will be achieved successfully.
Think of your car’s engine. Is there one part more important than the others? How about which leg of a 3-legged stool is more important? Corny stuff? Yes, but you get the picture.
For Motivation to be effective, transformative and able to support you on your Success Quest it needs all 9 components wrapped around it and you. That’s the bottom line.
Back to Motivation:
SideBar: This article is specifically written about the motivation component. Its intention is to help you understand what motivation is all about and how it works.
Motivation initiates, elevates, sustains and maintains our emotional, social and perceptive powers which in turn rouses us to action and enables us to confidently move towards achieving our goals.
In addition, by encouragement or coercion, Motivation is something that incites you; something that excites you. In other words, it “pushes and pulls” us to where we dream of going.
There are over 7 billion people living on Planet Earth right now. I guesstimate that there are about 7 billion or more ways that people get motivated and stay motivated.
Every single person has their own motivators and subsequent stimulators and more importantly, they all have their own “rationale” hanging on their front door for the world to see or stashed in a bottom drawer to conceal it from the world.
In countless books and in innumerable articles on the internet there’s an incredible amount of commentary on how to motivate yourself and to stay motivated. With so many different ways to motivate yourself it would not only be impossible to list them all here but I don’t really think it would serve any purpose to do it either.
Motivation is personal and only you know what yours is and where it’s coming from.
Truly knowing and understanding what motivates you, helps to galvanize and, at the same time, intertwine your feelings, your emotions and your senses, causing them to meld and merge until they form a new powerful life force that wraps itself around you.
This life force is what will keep you upright and mobile. It will encourage you. It will keep you invigorated and energized and it will help you press on, to a victorious Success Quest.
Hold on! Hold on!! Wait!!! Please wait one second !!!!
FIRSTLY (it is a word), A REMINDER: “Motivation” is one of the components in ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept.’ It must affix and wrap itself around the other 4 components as well as the 4 components in the ‘The t.r.i.p Concept.’ For your Success Quest to move forward smoothly and indomitably, all 9 components must meld and merge. It must be “one for all and all for one” in order for you to move your Success Quest to victory.
SECONDLY:
There’s a tool that’s available to you in your Success Support Arsenal that will allow you to take the power force generated from your “motivation”, super charge it, and impel it to levels never seen before . . . and way beyond.
Please let me introduce you to Motivation + 2: The True Essence of your Power. . . also known as “The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept”
What gets you out of bed in the morning and keeps you out of the bed in the afternoon? What gets you so excited that you can hardly contain yourself? What keeps you going?
I have a friend who was severely overweight. His wife, mother and doctor rode him like a wild bronco and wouldn’t let go about his weight and how it was going to kill him. Kill him! The words they used. He was frustrated and meekly said to me” I love my family but I just can’t get it going. “I asked him if he likes the way he looks and to make a long, very long, story short he said he finds himself disgusting and won’t get undress and that his sex life is non-existent.
I said, “okay then screw the health and focus on looking good.” He looked at me and was stunned. He told me that when I said that to him a feeling of excitement hit him so hard that it made him shed some tears.
The bottom line: He lost 63 pounds. He looks amazing. He got a girlfriend. He got divorced.
I think his wife blames me for screwing up their marriage. True story.
The Take-Away From This Story:
1- There is no one way to be motivated. You decide how it’s done. You do what’s good for you. Motivation is meant to lift you. It’s meant to energize and actualize your efforts in pursuing your dreams and goals. You use whatever you want to use as stimulation in order get up and be motivated.
2-Your motivators do not have to be listed in psychology books or on the lists of the gazillions of articles on the internet. Be creative. Get up close and personal with your “self” and create your own motivators.
3- Creating and nurturing your own personal highly developed and invigorated motivators, mixed with a healthy measure of inspiration and self-determination, will bring to “life” your very own magical and enchanted potion, that will open the doors to a normally impenetrable and enigmatic world.
In this new world you’ll find your life fulcrum, where the kind of guidance and support you need is waiting for you, and when diligently applied, will raise you to a new, all-encompassing, advanced level of success and happiness.
IMPORTANT: Before I introduce you to Motivation + 2: The True Essence of your Power. . . also known as “The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept”, please let me share several essential and fundamental principles of motivation that must be in effect if you’re going to be able to “move” your life “Lock, Stock, and Barrel” to another personal space that you’ve selected.
URGENT: These simple but essential and fundamental principles are the ones that you need to put in to effect in order to establish an indomitable support foundation for the motivation sphere and beyond. This foundation, when built with honesty and determination, will have the strength and vigor to support the establishment of your inspiration, goals and your purpose or purposes in life as well.
Building Your Foundation – How to Find What Motivates You and How to Maintain It:
1-Be willing to leave your comfort zone: You’re going to have to step mentally and physically outside of your world to find out what you want to do with your life and find out what will inspire and motivate you enough to move your life to where you want it to be. How do you start to do this?
- You P.E.E.E – “Practicing, Exploring, Experiencing and Experimenting” (The p.e.e.e Concept) are compelling investigation, detection, educational and fact-finding tools in your Success Support Arsenal. Initiate and “rev’ them up. You go out and explore and experience life outside your sphere of influence and outside your normal routine. You experiment with what you find and you practice doing this over and over. You reach out to new situations and you practice doing this over and over.
One word of advice and warning: “Start Slowly”. Feeling the discomfort? Roll it back. Relax. Start at the same spot later and move forward some more. Feeling the discomfort some more? Repeat the same steps until your totally up and “running.”
Leave your comfort zone? What this means is that the “butterflies” that you feel when moving beyond your current sphere of influence is normal and this “butterflies feeling” is just trying to tell you something. These “discomforting” feelings (it does include fear) are there to support and protect you. They’re not there to discourage you or hurt you. The way to find out what they’re trying to tell you is twofold:
- Accept them with open arms. Speak with them. Say out loud ” I hear you and welcome you. Help me understand what your saying to me” Respect them and they’ll respect your requests. No smirking yet. Just give it a shot.
- With this open and welcoming attitude start the questions and write down the answers. You’re questions should be about you and about who you are, What you like to do, who do you admire, what don’t you like to do, etc. etc. Start with the 5w’s+1: Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? Learning how to ask the right questions will be the most powerful tool in your Success Support Arsenal.
- For more comprehensive information on “Questions and asking the right ones” please see my article here on ItsAllPossible.com “Questions,The Most Powerful Tool in Your Success Support Arsenal is Free and Available 24/7. Are You Using it?”
2-Don’t be afraid to make mistakes: Every 24 hours you get the chance to reboot and start your life all over again. Review your mistake, adjust it, fix it and then move forward. If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not really trying hard enough to transform your world.
Mistakes are for education. Learn and grow stronger from them. If you find that tomorrow, the motivators that you’re currently using are not working, then change them. Stay flexible and open to the opportunities that you bump into. Don’t fall in love with any one specific option in your life. They don’t work anymore? Out they go.
Please review ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Component #5 Persistence for more comprehensive information on “making mistakes.”
3-Believe in Yourself: What does this really mean? It means that . . .
- You accept the fact that you’re a human being that’s not always perfect. From time to time, you do mess up like everyone else, and that’s okay.
- You know that you’re a good person and that you’re a reasonably caring person. There are people that like you.
- You know your strengths and are willing to admit to yourself what your weaknesses are. You’re smart enough to use your strengths to your advantage and to compensate for your weaknesses.
- You may be a pain in the ass from time to time and even a little selfish but you really do like yourself.
- You know that you deserve a great life and that you can and will transform your world, and make that happen.
4- Build Your Success Support Community: You can not transform your world all by yourself. To build a solid foundation you need all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds, as part of your new world.
Please see ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Part #4 People for a comprehensive discussion on what you need and how to get it.
5-Never Give Up- If you never give up how could you possibly fail? Write down your goals and your purpose in life. Write down what motivates and inspires you. Read them everyday. One of the most important habits to develop that will impact your motivation and inspiration in a colossal way, is to review and remind yourself everyday about, “Why You Started on Your Success Quest in the First Place.”
IMPORTANT: Reminding yourself of why you’re doing it will be the number one and number two ways to keep it nurtured and energized.
Please see ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Component #5 Persistence for a comprehensive discussion on how to never give up . . . in the right way.
Let’s Continue: Once Again, Please let me introduce you to Motivation + 2: The True Essence of your Power. . . also known as “The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept”
What is this bewitching power all about?
It’s simple.
It’s The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept at work: Self-Inspiration + Self- Motivation + Self-Determination:
This concept’s name is obviously, for better or for worse, concocted by me.
The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept is made up of 3 individual transformative forces that, when they meld, mold and merge together, they create and develop extreme levels of positivity, acute judgement, insightfulness, perception and fortitude and beyond.
In addition, when they join forces, their one unified goal and mission is to generate enormous power and energy to embolden and mentally fortify you. This is done to protect you, enable you and for you to develop and maintain the strength to endure and overcome any and all of the obstacles and setbacks that may arise on your Success Quest.
SideBar: The concept name is a play on words. We’re talking about you being able to “Free Yourself” from the everyday challenges of your current life and break on through to move towards the life you really desire.
Definitions for your Convenience:
Motivation Defined: It’s about acting in a way that accomplishes a specific goal and it holds out the offer of a reward, a reason or a motivation for that action.
Self-Motivation Defined: Is the ability to satisfy a desire, expectation, or goal without being influenced to do so by another person.
Self- Inspiration Defined: the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. Here on ItsAllPossible.com please see ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Component #1 Inspiration for more information.
Motivation versus Inspiration: Inspiration is something that you feel on the inside, while motivation is something from the outside that compels you to take action. Inspiration is a driving force, while motivation is a pulling force.
Self-Determination Defined: The process by which a person controls their own life. The act of deciding definitively and firmly and not willing to let anything prevent you from doing what you have decided to do. Having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it.
Determined Defined: Having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it. Synonyms: intent on, bent on, set on, insistent on, resolved to, firm about, committed to; single-minded about, obsessive about. Processing or displaying resolve. Resolute, purposeful, purposive, adamant, single-minded, unswerving, unwavering, undaunted, intent, insistent;
“Self” Defined: a person’s essential being that distinguishes them from others. The personality or character that makes a person different from other people: the combination of emotions, thoughts, feelings, etc., that make a person different from others.
“Self” is the unassailable, dominant force behind the power of your potentiality:
The “Self” in Self-Inspiration+ Self- Motivation + Self-Determination represents power. It’s personal omnipotent power. It’s your power. It’s the most valuable piece of “Personal Property” you’ll ever own and control. Its “Appreciation” and “Depreciation” are determined by you and how you take control of your life.
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself” – George Bernard Shaw
Please Humor Me:
“Let’s Say That This is Your Fairy Tale”- One beautiful sunny morning as you awoke, a feeling came over you that, at first, you could not explain and you realized that it was because it was a feeling that you have never experienced before. All you knew was that you liked it and didn’t want it to end.
Fast Forward “Your fairy tale”:
1-You finally figured it out. This feeling was a feeling of confidence, tranquility and serenity and a warm feeling that you’re going to be okay.
2-At one point it actually overwhelmed you and brought tears to your eyes. The only thing you were sure of at this point, was that you knew you had to shift your entire life: “lock, stock and barrel”, in any direction that was away from where you’re currently placed in life at this time.
3-You want more out of life. Man or Woman, you want a fairytale. We all do. You know that you deserve more and that you’re highly capable of getting it. You’re “equipped” to succeed. Bigger and bolder than that, is the fact that you’re willing and able to do it.
4-You want to help yourself but there are also family, friends, hungry children and animals that you want to help, and staying where you are and accepting the place you’re in now, will be letting all these 2 & 4 legged beings down.
5-You decided initially that the best way to start was to take the “Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe” route. “Random” not only works, it Rocks. Take that one important step forward, no matter in which direction you decide, and “Break on through to the other side of ordinary to the world of extraordinary.”
This story is, of course, over-simplified but actually, it’s really not so far-fetched if given the proper tools and support.
One of the more powerful and substantial tools that could help make the “fairy tale” that you create come true, is actually a symbiotic relationship that exists between 3 mighty forces that when they meld, mold and merge together they become amazingly adaptable, catalytic, magical and extremely transformative.
Its “The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept” at work:
• Self-Inspiration
• Self- Determination
• Self-Motivation
Each of these three “transformative forces” is a powerhouse in their own right, but together, they form the mightiest of Success Support Tools you’ll ever have at your fingertips.
What are they all about?
To begin with, I believe that the modification or the metamorphosis of one’s life is usually initiated with one of three phrases: “I’m not happy”, “I must . . .” “I have to. . .”
It’s about looking for, and becoming aware of, your personal “guideposts” that illuminate points and places in your life that need to be shored up, transformed or “erased.”
It comes down to having a sense of “Dissatisfaction” and this discontent is the catalyst that starts, what I call, the “Personal Cycle of Reformation.”
This cycle goes through varied stages of development and diverse levels of intensity, all dependent on how acutely you feel that your life needs to be turned around, modified or entirely transformed.
The cycle starts with you recognizing a “sense of dissatisfaction” in your “life and beyond” and searching for a strategy to modify or transform your life (Self-Inspiration), followed by formulating plans to carry out those strategies (Self-Motivation) and then beginning and sticking with that transformative strategy (Self-Determination).
1-Self-Inspiration:
Self-Inspiration is all about you. You’re the one that needs to jump start the process and move it, so it could move you.
Negative emotions are an extraordinary tool when you take the time to learn how to use them.
Dissatisfaction, for one, is a mighty inspirer and when embraced and treated with respect will lead you to a place in life where you know you belong. Dissatisfaction is your ally and the back-up that will help break down the barriers holding you from moving to your rightful place in life.
When the discomfort of staying in place exceeds the discomfort of “moving” your life to another station this dissatisfaction will be the provocation you’ve been looking for.
As you saw in “your fairy Tale” your feelings and emotions are the agitators of the status quo. They’re the disrupters of your present place in life and whatever you decide, or not decide, to do will enable this disruption to create a ripple-effect that will be felt in the days, months and probably in the years to come.
This disruption will help you impact the change that you need in your life. Letting your emotions and feelings “dance with you” when they need to, will not only lighten your burden, it will lead you to your next great brainstorm and your next great movement up and out from where you are now. This is your “Inspiration” kicking in.

2-Self-Determination:
What could turn out to be the spark that ignites your Inspiration could also be the answer to the one question you must always, always, always ask yourself and keep it in “front-of-mind” and that is:
Who assigned me to this particular “place” in life?
Follow that question up with these questions:
Do you remember calling for reservations for this place in life? Do you remember being dragged and forcefully placed in this particular place in life? Do you remember getting lost and ending up in this place in life, but forgot to leave? Were you ever told that this was your place in life and you can’t do anything about it, so suck it up?
Enough? You get the picture.
Why would you even consider for a moment, that where you are today, is where you have to be tomorrow?
Answering this question honestly could change your life.
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” – Vincent T. Lombardi
I understand the anxiety and fear that change brings but, with the appropriate tools and support you can make it happen. Don’t be fooled by what you see on the other side of the fence. “No one” and I repeat “No one” has ever changed their place in life all by themselves. They’ve all had help and support. Every single one of them. Don’t believe the BS that people sling.
Self-Determination is all about attitude. Your attitude. It’s that simple.
Self-Determination is about feeling and embracing the energy and exhilaration that’s created with the adoption, and the subsequent adaption, of the fiery attitude of “Screw it, I’m going to do this and no one can or will stop me!!!” How can you fail if you “eat, sleep and breathe” this attitude?
I have repeated this over and over again: Review ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ and ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ here on ItsAllPossible.com and you will be victorious on your Success Quest. Any questions? Reach out to someone you trust and respect. Travel the internet and meet and greet incredible, talented people who’ve been where you are. Their stories and advice will become invaluable to you. I’m an email away. If I don’t know the answer I’ll get you the answer.
No one succeeds because they’re destined to succeed they succeed because they’re determined to succeed.
When your Self-Determination reaches the level of a massive commitment, you’re making the decision to do whatever it takes to get it done. This doesn’t mean that you’re not going to have setbacks along the way; but you’ll realize that they’re just setbacks and you won’t let them intimidate or discourage you.
Your motivation powered up with this extreme Self-Determination will lift and carry you to the finish line.
3-Self- Motivation:
Self-Motivation is Motivation on steroids. Please review the information in the beginning of this article.
Now that you’ve inspired your-self and created personal determination by your-self what will you do to motivate your-self to act on all this power?
Self-Motivation is the part of “The ‘Three-Your-Self’ Concept” that will act as the “wheelman.” Self-Motivation is the “how” of “how are you going to get there?”
Self- Motivation can be understood not as something that one has but rather as something one does.
The Difference Between Motivation and Self-Motivation: Developing and reinforcing “Motivation” as a super-power comes primarily from intertwining it with the other two super-powers: Self-Inspiration and Self-Determination. When this galvanic energy, that’s generated by this melding and merging, is absorbed by “Motivation”, it expands, invigorates and impels “Motivation” to extreme levels and “Motivation” takes on the form and substance of a super-power as well. Thus, Self-Motivation is created.
To Reiterate and Accentuate: as we discussed earlier, there are several suggested steps that need to be taken to effectively Self-Motivate:
- Be willing to leave your comfort zone.
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
- Believe in yourself
- Build your Success Support Community.
- Never give up
Much more on all 3 of these super powers in separate future articles . . .
