INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Information Part #2: Information Aggregation using ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’: Practice, Exploring, Experimenting, Experiencing
There’s 6 parts in total: The introduction, Chapter One: Practice, Chapter Two: Explore+ Experiment+ Experience, Chapter Three: Explore, Chapter Four: Experiment and Chapter Five: Experience.
This article is 21,200 words, which is about 68 pages long. To make it easier and more enjoyable I broke it into chapters and sections. With the added media, it should be easier to read in as many sittings as you want by having, in effect, “bookmarks” to come back to.
In information Part #1, we discussed “Information Literacy” and ways to make it available for you on your personal or business Success Quest. We continue the discussion here with a closer look at the big expansive picture of the work that’s done before and at the beginning of a personal or business Success Quest or, when you’re just starting to think about launching a “Success Quest.”
‘Success Quest’ Defined: A Quest, is a search or pursuit, made to find or obtain something. A ‘Success Quest’ is the pursuit of success in your personal or business life. It could be a personal ‘Success Quest’ to lose weight, a ‘Success Quest’ to launch a multi-million-dollar business, or it could be a ‘Success Quest’ of anything in between or beyond. It’s about shifting your life from ordinary to “above” ordinary or, if it’s your dream, up and out to extraordinary.
“Information literacy” Defined: It’s a crucial skill in the pursuit of knowledge. It involves recognizing when information is needed and being able to efficiently locate, accurately evaluate, effectively use, and clearly communicate information in various formats.
Key Point: Information is King. Information Gathering is a dynamic, incremental, ongoing process. At the beginning of your Success Quest and beyond, you’ll always be modifying and adjusting your existing information and gathering and evaluating new information.

Gathering consummate information is your lifeline to leading a happy, healthy, prosperous life. Take your time and do it right.

I DIGRESS ONE MORE TIME PLEASE
The Power of Information:
The number one benefit and eventuality of information, information literacy and information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do at any time they need to do it. It enables people with the power of freedom and opportunity to discover, invent and create. It motivates and strengthens people to rise-up and become productive and self-sustaining.
It not only helps people sustain themselves physically, it aids in helping them acquire any general and specific knowledge that they need to live their lives wrapped in happiness, health and prosperity.
Knowledge is Power. Information is Power.
KEY POINT: The authentic power of ‘information’ is found in “what you actually do with that information. “
The power of information dissipates and will make a fleeting and fickle exit, if ignored or used irresponsibly and recklessly. Neglect or not understanding the information in hand, results in you passing off your power to the next person, who’s ready and able to receive it. Information Power travels along the same route as the utilization and application of that information. Give away a piece of information and you give your power away.
Knowledge VS. Information:
Knowledge Defined: Acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation; general erudition: knowledge of many things. Facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. “a thirst for knowledge.” Awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. Awareness, consciousness, realization, cognition, apprehension, perception, appreciation.
Information Defined: knowledge obtained from investigation, study, or instruction. Facts provided or learned about something or someone. Details, facts, figures, statistics, data; More knowledge, intelligence; instruction, advice, guidance, direction, counsel, enlightenment. What is conveyed or represented by a particular arrangement or sequence of things.
The Bottom Line: Knowledge is gained from what we do with the Information around us. You are more knowledgeable when you process information and retain it. You need information to be able to get knowledge. Information launched and disseminated the “Arab Spring” while Knowledge enhanced its focus and helped it undergo a natural development and become larger and more meaningful over time.
“Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information on it.” ― Samuel Johnson
LET’S BEGIN
I’d like to introduce you to ‘The p.e.e.e Concept.’ Practicing, Exploring, Experimenting and Experiencing’ , a compelling ‘Information Aggregation’ Support Tool for gathering specific and general information for investigations, discovery, detection, education, fact-finding and, they’re are all part of your Success Support Arsenal.
There’s 6 parts in ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’: The introduction, Chapter One: Practice, Chapter Two: Explore+ Experiment+ Experience, Chapter Three: Exploring, Chapter Four: Experimenting and Chapter Five: Experiencing
The methods discussed here, in information Part#2, is especially powerful for ‘Information Aggregation’ that’s performed during the “Pre–Success Quest” or “early days” of your Success Quest. Of course, feel free to use ‘The P.e.e.e Concept’ at any time you feel it’s appropriate for you and your situation.
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: A Quest, is a search or pursuit, made to find or obtain something.
SideBar: Actually, Information Part #2: ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’, could be considered as the “prequel to Information Part #1.
‘PRACTICE’: FOUR CATEGORIES
Category #1- ‘Ingenuous Practice’
The most common and basic form of Practice, or what I call ‘Ingenuous Practice’, is simply, repeated exercise in, or performance of, an activity or skill, so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it.
I call it “Ingenuous Practice,” which is essentially just doing something repeatedly, and expecting that the repetition alone will improve one’s performance. The assumption here is that you didn’t do the necessary, legitimate, accurate, qualitative research, or due diligence, to learn how to practice the safest, most productive and the most potent way.
Pure, unadulterated “Ingenuous Practice,” is a dangerous, time wasting action or event and in most cases, is counter-productive.
Ingenuous Defined: innocent, unsuspecting, inexperienced, naive or trusting.
First and foremost, no matter what kind of work you do, no matter where you are in your career, no matter how talented you are in a sport or a hobby and no matter how good you’ve become in any one of them, you can always get better. Always!
How?
Your “Propensity to Practice,” that’s how:
The vital guideposts to use in order for your “Propensity to Practice” to be effective, compelling and enduring all comes down to:
- The quality and accuracy of the information that you’re using and referring to, that serves as the foundation for how and what you’re practicing i.e. your Tennis form and how you serve.
- How effectively did you obtain that information? Is the source credible?
- What Success Support Tools, if any, did you use to extract that information?
- What kind of system did you establish for review, feedback and modification of the results of your practice?
We’ll discuss these and much more in this article.
The only way to develop vigorous and enduring proficiency in using any of your Life or Success Support Tools or Skills, and have those tools or skills become an integral part of your Success Support Arsenal, is to use them (‘Practice’) generously, consistently and appropriately or, “lose them.”
‘Practicing’ with consistent but appropriate repetition, is the only way to ensure that you naturally and habitually become everlastingly highly skilled at using those skills and tools.
“Appropriate” is the operative word.
Becoming proficient in using those tools or skills, that are available to you in your Success Support Arsenal, is critical in helping you become a self-sustaining, enduring human being who’s ready and able to receive opportunities as they come to you and, know how to immediately grab and hold onto them and, bring them to a successful state of development and consequently, a victorious Success Quest.
To Summarize: Making it a “Practice” and an acquired behavior pattern to ‘Practice’ using your Life or Success Support Tools and Skills whenever possible and in the safest, most productive, most potent way, while at the same time, mixing in significant and relevant supportive, legitimate, accurate, quality information that you diligently uncovered, will compel all the pieces to come together and reinforce and sharpen your discernment, perception and decision-making skills and tools.
There’s “Ingenuous Practice” and then there’s “Purposeful Practice”, “Reflective Practice” and “Making it a Common Practice”. Fortifying the way that you “practice’ can provide you with access to a gateway of power, strength and success.
All four categories used at the proper time to reinforce both the skills and tools that you’ve adopted and embraced plus, what you’ve learned from the information you aggregated through exploring, experimenting and experience, will enable you to effect a tour de force and move towards a victorious Success Quest.
Category #2-Purposeful Practice
Our focus for this article and this concept, ‘The P.e.e.e Concept,’ is ‘Information Aggregation’ and the ‘Power of Relevant Information’.
Obtaining relevant information for your personal or business Success Quest, through the use of the Success Support Tools in your Success Support Arsenal, is the only reliable and reasonable way to accomplish this.
The dominant, information gathering, Success Support Tools are ‘Exploring,’ ‘Experimenting’ and ‘Experiencing.’ Along with ‘Practice’ these 3 top tier tools make up ‘The P.e.e.e Concept.’
‘Information Aggregation’ without a resolute and coherent objective to extract Relevant Information, would result in a futile attempt to succeed, using the information in hand. It would be just a waste of time and extremely irresponsible to use indistinct, possibly inaccurate or outdated information, to make decisions that will affect the outcome of your personal or business Success Quest.
URGENT NOTE: ‘Purposeful Practice’, and not ‘Ingenuous Practice,’ is the only route to take to shore up and fortify the power of your information gathering through the use of ‘Exploring,’ ‘Experimenting’ and ‘Experiencing.’
MAIN POINT: ‘Purposeful Practice’ applied persistently to ‘Exploring,’ ‘Experimenting’ and ‘Experiencing’ will result in the appropriate, skillful and commanding development of these ‘Relevant Information Aggregation’ tools.
‘Purposeful Practice’ is all about the quality of the practice and not about the quantity.
The main point of ‘Purposeful Practice’ is twofold:
1- It’s performing resolute practice on a deliberate, reflective, serious level, to specifically strengthen and become highly competent in using Exploring+ Experimenting+ Experiencing for ‘Information Aggregation.’
Strengthening your proficiency in these mighty Success Support Tools by using ‘Purposeful Practice’ is essential to be able to generate the information, vitality, motivation and decisiveness that your personal or business Success Quest requires.
2- It’s performing resolute practice on a deliberate, reflective, serious level, to enhance any and all Life or Success Support Tools and Skills that you want to move from ordinary competence to extraordinary competence.
It’s used to legitimately improve and to become better at anything that you want to do i.e. Start a business, learn how to play an instrument, learn a new trade or hobby etc. It’s the right way, the only way, to practice anything.
Some General Pointers for ‘Purposeful Practice’:
1-Research: Due diligence on the tool, skill, situation or event that you’re looking to commit to learning or, that you’re looking to shift your competence level up “a notch or six” is essential.
Get to know everything you can about it. You may be incredibly surprised at the “tidbits” you may uncover.
About Those Tidbits: As you pore over the research, keep an eye out for “new opportunities” or anything that looks “new and exciting.” One word is enough to open the gateway to the world of extraordinary. Just one word. Invoke the principle of “Positive Expectancy”: “I will find new opportunities” as you’re carrying out your research.
2-Who’s the Best? Even if your goal is to shift your competence level up one notch and not six, you always want to know how the “best of the best” do what you want to learn to do or improve what you’re doing. You want to know exactly how they do their ‘Purposeful Practice.’ Then take that information, modify it, and make it your own, using what’s comfortable for you.
3- Be Flexible and Open-Minded: You love golf and you want to improve your swing. The best golfer in the world practices swinging 800 times a day. Now you know what she does and you know you only practice swinging 6 times a day. What’s the next golf champ to do? Be flexible and open minded. Don’t do 6 but now increase your practice time and do 12 swings per day. Do what you’re comfortable with and slowly increase your practice sessions to where you can discern improvements.
4-Frustration is good: Frustration is not meant to punish you. It’s a Success Support tool designed to act as a guidepost and make you aware of the fact that you may possibly have to work smarter, harder, increase your practice sessions or, all three. It’s letting you know that something must change. It has nothing to do with being competent or not. It’s only a guidepost to alert you that a change is needed.
5- You have 365 chances per year to start all over: Every morning as the sun rises, it brings a new opportunity for you to start all over with your Success Quest. The new sunrise signals a new chance to fix or adjust yesterday’s mistakes or move on to a new Success Quest. It’s your new shot to do whatever you want to do. This is every day. Every 24 hours. Every day of the year brings you a fighting chance to punch through to a victorious Success Quest.
6- How much does it mean to you? You must ask yourself this question often. You must be able to remind yourself “why” you launched your personal or business Success Quest in the first place. You need to remind yourself of the energy and desire that was wrapped around you and that generated the excitement that inspired and motivated you in the very beginning.
If you’re able to push through the stress and discouragement and virtually embrace those feelings again, you’ll be able to get through the tough times and you should be able to continue on. If you’re finding that you can’t reach out and be “touched” by those feelings and emotions, then it’s time to reevaluate your Success Quest.
THE MAIN POINT: If your goal is to shift from a world of ordinary to a world of extraordinary then the only option you have is “Purposeful Practice”, which is learning, absorbing and practicing and practicing and practicing the “hard Stuff” and then, review and assess your development and then Practice, practice, practice some more.
A decision to shift to outside of your traditional comfort zone, away from the ordinary to the extraordinary, requires that the level of your Success Support Tool Quality, that’s found in your Success Support Arsenal, be lifted and fortified.
FIRST FINAL NOTE: ‘Purposeful Practice’ is about taking the extra time to practice and develop a skill that you’re not currently so good at and, no matter how difficult it is. It’s about having the courage, confidence and determination to attempt to acquire abilities that you never had. It’s going above and beyond and working with skills or knowledge that you don’t have but that you need to develop in order to be able to succeed on your Success Quest. It’s digging deep, deeper than most, for the information that you need to accomplish this.
It’s about keeping the Exploring+ Experimenting+ Experiencing Tools, sharp and current. It’s about being mindful of these tools and setting on a deliberate course of ‘Purposeful Practice’ to ensure that each tool is ready and able to function at the highest levels when called upon.
SECOND FINAL NOTE: If you feel that ‘Purposeful Practice’ is too intense and not for you, that’s fine. No practice at all? Just doing what you “enjoy” doing, often and with no pressure, is fine as well. If you’re serious about ‘Deflecting and Shifting’ your life from the ordinary world to an extraordinary world, then you’ll need to activate the proper intensity and application of ‘Purposeful Practice’ to be able to fortify the tools and skills you’ll need to succeed.
Category #3- Reflective Practice
One “general pointer” that I deferred from Category #2 and brought here to have its own space as Category #3 is ‘Reflective Practice’.
Reflective Defined: relating to or characterized by deep thought; thoughtful. The ability to reflect on an action so as to engage in a process of continuous learning.
MAIN POINT: So, how ya doin’?
This is the key question that encapsulates the meaning of ‘Reflective Practice.’
A key rationale for ‘Reflective Practice’ is that experience and repetition alone does not necessarily lead to everlasting knowledge or effective learning to gain that knowledge. Deliberate and habitual reflection on your actions and your experiences are essential to have it become a mighty and enduring Success Support Tool or Skill.
A person who reflects throughout his or her practice is not just looking back on past actions and events, but is taking a conscious look at emotions, experiences, actions, and responses, and using that information to add to his or her existing knowledge base and reach a higher level of understanding.
‘Reflective Practice’ is a process by which you stop and think about your current ‘Purposeful Practice’ sessions, consciously analyzing your actions and decision making and draw on, and relate it to, what you’re doing during your ‘Purposeful Practice.’
Information gleaned from a critical review and evaluation of your ‘Purposeful Practice’ enables you to modify and adjust the actual skills or tools that you’re working with to raise them to higher quality levels thus readying them for the demanding tasks common on a worthy Success Quest.
‘Purposeful Practice’ wrapped in ‘Reflective Practice, strengthens your skills in the ‘Exploring,’ ‘Experimenting’ and ‘Experiencing’ tools found in your Success Quest Arsenal. This consequently affects your existing knowledge by generating additional or new knowledge interwoven with possible new opportunities, new ideas and situations.
To Summarize: ‘Reflective Practice’ is, in its simplest form, thinking about or reflecting on what you did and how you did it and then, adjusting it to make it more efficient and from that, decide what you would do differently next time.
Reflective practice is one of the easiest things to drop when the pressure is on, yet it’s one of the things that you can least afford to drop. Time spent on reflective practice will ensure that you are focusing on the things that really matter, both to you and to your Success Quest.
Category #4- ‘Make It a Common Practice’
GENERAL INFORMATION:
When you decide consciously to ‘Make Something a Practice’ or, by habit and regular use, it becomes a ‘Common Practice,’ it simply means that it’s something that is done often and is considered normal or it turns into to something that is a habitual activity.
Something that is a Common Practice is done repeatedly, and over time, it eventual becomes accepted and is considered normal. If something is “common”, it is found in large numbers or it happens often.
FOR OUR PURPOSES:
Besides ‘Making it a Practice’ to implement ‘Purposeful Practice’ wrapped in ‘Reflective Practice’ when building specific skills and adroitness in using your Success Support Tools, there’s other essential tools to adopt and ‘make it a practice’ to physically and intellectually work with them and keep them sharp.
When availing oneself of the “Practicing, Exploring, Experimenting and Experiencing” Success Support Tools, it’s essential to also have the Success Support Tools of “Vigilance’ and ‘Awareness’ available and close at hand.
‘Making it a Practice’ or making it a ‘Common Practice’ to always be on the alert and to be vigilant and aware of what’s going on all around you is your best immediate protection and your number one immediate Preservation Success Support Tool. Being mentally and physically alert, vigilant and aware, are your primary line of defense and offense in your personal and business lives.
Going on the Defensive Defined: Protecting lives and assets, which includes all your business and personal valuables, from incoming threats of all kinds.
Going on the Offensive Defined: Going assertively/aggressively after opportunities discerned and/or detected or, being first to push forward and take a stand or a dominant position to protect lives, assets or a competitive edge.
The determination of the magnitude and quality of your State of Awareness and Vigilance is not only about how fired up you are to keep watch for emergencies or life threatening situations that could occur but, it’s also to supercharge your discernment and perception abilities to enable you to be at the ready for the subsequent awareness and vigilance of opportunities, that decide to “bump’ into you and you into them.
Your State of Awareness and Vigilance, at any level, must be backed up with proper and accurate information that relates to any and all situations or events that arouse your suspicion or your curiosity. You need to know, or determine, what the “Reality” of the situation or event is as soon as possible and, know how to verify, interpret and apply the “information” that you uncover.
The deployment of this State of Awareness and Vigilance should not be transient or something that you drag out whenever you remember to, if you remember to. You should always be mindful that this Success Support Tool is available to you 24/7 and it should always be “at the ready” and close at hand.
Being in a constant State of Awareness and Vigilance is not meant to cause you stress and pressure. Think of it as a favorite piece of jewelry that you enjoy wearing. It will be an intentional, deliberate state of mind at first but, as you “wear” it more, it will evolve into a natural, habitual, compelling feeling that starts to empower and comfort you, especially when knowing that you’ll be in your “watchtower” with eyes wide open.
The more you mentally ‘Practice’ (use) and are mindful of Awareness and Vigilance being there for you, the less you’ll have to think about it and the more intuitive and discerning you’ll become and, the best part of the process, is that you’ll be amazed at what you can actually “see” coming at you.
IMPORTANT: The master fulcrum to a keen State of Awareness and Vigilance is ‘Information’. The quality and accuracy of the ‘relevant information’ you accumulate will determine how spot-on your decisions are. As always, the foremost source of aggregating information for decision making of any kind and for developing a keen State of Awareness and Vigilance is the “Mighty Question”.
Please see my article on “Questions” here on ItsAllPossible.com.
“I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one’s being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.” ― Martha Graham
I strongly suggest you review “Information Part #1” here on Its All Possible, and in addition, review in its entirety, ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ and ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept.’
INTRODUCING THE REST OF THE TEAM:
EXPLORE+ EXPERIMENT+ EXPERIENCE
Explore+ Experiment+ Experience are 3 inimitable powerhouse tools found in your Success Support Arsenal. Each one is a unique tool that could be used individually but, to substantially increase your chances for victory on your personal or business Success Quest, I strongly advise that they be used as one distinct, indomitable, interconnected team.
‘The P.e.e.e Concept’ is made up of, and is about. . .
‘Exploring’ many possible newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events.
Then we move on to. . .
‘Experimenting’ with these different alternative newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, to determine which are viable and reliable to be used on your personal or business Success Quest.
It’s about using this viable and reliable extracted information to guide you and enable you to acquire relevant. . .
‘Experience’ to be able to determine worthwhile newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, from the worthless ones. It’s also about acquiring the ‘Experience’ to know how to use all the information extracted, and being able to apply it effectively and seamlessly to life and Success Quest decisions, situations and challenges.
Then there’s. . .
‘Practice’, and ‘Practice’ actually steps in and becomes the “workout coach” once Explore+ Experiment+ Experience have done their part. ‘Practice’ ensures that these three powerhouses, remain ready and able to be used at any moment in time. ‘Practice’ helps to keep this trio nimble and helps to build and fortify the three tools and enables them to work as one mighty force.

The following are individual discussions for EXPLORE+ EXPERIMENT+ EXPERIENCE.
INTRODUCTION
REMINDER: Step #1 ‘Baseline Exploring’ and Step #2 ‘Creative Exploring’ are used to search for an “opportunity”, ‘Experimenting’ is verifying and substantiating that “opportunity” and ‘Experience’ is knowing what to do, developmentally, with that opportunity, in order to energize and enable a victorious Success Quest and beyond.
Baseline Exploring: Here we’re digging deep, and gathering all relevant, general and/or specific, information related to discovering and/or developing unactualized, newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original,” unique and abstract ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, in order to use this information as a baseline or reference point, when initiating the creative process.
Here you’re looking for the baseline facts and the baseline information that are relevant, mundane, obvious, current and accessible. These are the plain, straightforward, hardcore, unembellished, dry baseline facts and potentialities that are related and connected to new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events.
We believe that these new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events all may possess the possibility of becoming a winning Success Quest and when, an assertive attitude, unfettered imagination and a compelling creative process is applied and dispensed in and around them, several exciting worthwhile Success Quests are sure to be the eventuality.
Side Bar: Here, in Baseline Exploring, we’re hyper-focused, fiercely determined, totally inflexible and, when we’re in this intense state, our attention is directed outward, toward the details of the project, situation or event that we’re trying to resolve, solve or develop and, with absolutely no wiggle room for outside distractions. Here we’re looking for the unimaginative, uninspiring cold facts and information that we could use as a starting point or “Baseline” for the next step: Creative Exploring.
Creative Exploring: Here we look to innovate, expand and creatively effect the ‘information aggregation’ from the ‘Baseline Exploration’. We’re looking to Creative Exploring for help and direction to be able to develop unique and disparate ideas and concepts from these baseline facts and information.
As you begin to ‘Creatively Explore’, the first and foremost thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a “100% original idea.”
There’s only “old ideas recycled”, “cross-industry” ideas, “cross-pollinated ideas,” “crisscrossed ideas” and “refurbished ideas”, all used in creatively different combinations and in creatively different ways to create new and “original” ideas. Yes, that’s right, your success will rely on how well you learn how to recycle and rebuild.
Side Bar: Here we allow our minds to shift from intense focus to being loose and unfettered. When our minds are at ease and in a purposeful wandering mode we’re more likely to direct the spotlight of attention inward and let our thoughts take us where they want to go. Have some fun and wander mentally and physically.
Please Note: A new article is in the works explaining the concepts of “original ideas”, “old ideas recycled”, “cross-industry ideas”, “cross-pollinated ideas”, “crisscrossed ideas” and “refurbished ideas”. It’s titled ‘The Cross Co-Opt Idea Concept’.
Creative Exploring: Your new frontier. Its immediate mission: to explore strange new “worlds”, to seek out new ideas and develop new ways to be creative, to boldly go where no “human” has gone before.” Sound familiar? More on this later.
Just a Reminder: A Quest, is a search or pursuit, made to find or obtain something.
SECTION ONE
‘Baseline Exploring’ and ‘Creative Exploring’ initiate the process of assembling general, specific and creative relevant information that lead to “original” ideas, relevant solutions, outstanding opportunities, all emanating from ‘Relevant Information Aggregation’, Deliberate Inquiry, Charmed Discovery and Happenstance/Serendipity.
There is no one size fits all source to find new and sustainable opportunities. ‘Exploring’ should be ceaseless, deliberate and indefatigable while using a broad range of information sources and flexibility to pursue alternate avenues as new ideas and opportunities come to light.
“In ‘Exploring’ we discover. In discovering we see. With seeing we are aware. With awareness, there is this potential to act without causing disorder.”
‘Exploring’ goes beyond just standard relevant information gathering.
‘Exploring’ is about stepping and thinking outside of the proverbial box by pushing, pulling and digging deep for relevant information while at the same time, applying and scrutinizing the fresh information gathered, to uncover new and unique opportunities.
SECTION TWO
‘Exploring’ is all about searching for, and trying to “see”, what others don’t “see.” It’s venturing into places, situations or acquiring sources for information gathering, that you never knew about, or never had the inclination, need or desire to look in to.
Do you remember that beautiful morning when you decided that you’re ready, able and willing to deflect challenges and shift your life from an ordinary world to an extraordinary world? You weren’t sure how you were going to do it and you weren’t even sure what it is that you’ll do.
What you did know, is that you were willing and capable, to go outside of your comfort zone, and shift your life from ordinary to extraordinary and that’s a powerful beginning.
You were also levelheaded enough to know that it was time to officially launch a Success Quest, even though there was an abundance of “unknowns” hanging around your sphere of influence and beyond. You decided that, being the future superstar that you are, you were courageous and confident enough, to make an earnest effort to fill in the blanks and deal with the “unknowns” as you move forward and start to ‘Explore.’
Your intentions, and attention, should always be pointed in the direction of deliberate development of your “Exploratory Prowess,” and at the same time, initiate “Purposeful Practice,” to develop and build “Exploring” into a powerful, integral member of your Success Support Arsenal. In other words, be ‘Exploring’ all the time.
SECTION THREE
The Beginning
IMPORTANT REFERENCE POINT REPEATED: As you begin to ‘Explore’, the first and foremost thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a “100% original idea.”
A new article for these concepts is in the works.
The First Step: Building a Point of Reference
JUST A REMINDER: Your first step is to set out and start ‘Baseline Exploring,’ digging deep, and gathering all relevant, general and/or specific information related to discovering and/or developing ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events and to use this information as a baseline or reference point for the creative process.
At this point in time, you’re looking for the baseline facts and the baseline information that is relevant, mundane, obvious, current and accessible. These are the relevant, plain, straightforward, hardcore, unembellished dry baseline facts about the idea, solution, opportunity, situation or event.
IMPORTANT: All this information will serve as your baseline or point of reference for what was discovered, uncovered and then creatively developed, on or for, your personal or business Success Quest.
MOVING RIGHT ALONG
This is the relevant baseline information that will “ground” and “support” the “reality” that permeates the ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events while you navigate across the great divide between this “reality” and the innovational world, looking for unique, imaginative, wondrous, varied, supercharged next generation versions of these ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events.
Worth Repeating: This is the ‘Baseline Exploration Expedition’ information that forms a “reality point of reference” for the “new” and exciting ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events you find on your ‘Creative Exploration Expedition’.
Once you gather the information that builds a reasonably distinct baseline or point of reference for the ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events, the next move is to move on to ‘Creative Exploring’ and search for unique, “original“, and different versions of the ideas, solutions, opportunities, situations or events.
EXAMPLE:
The Idea: You want to invent a ball that’s thrown by one person and it automatically returns to that same person. Baseline Exploring: The relevant information and reference point: A ball is round. Why? How was the ball invented and by whom? How does weight affect a ball? What effect does the composition of the ball have on its use? How does a boomerang work and why was it created? Why is this type of ball a good idea…or not? Etc. Etc. Etc. Keep Questioning and Shredding with Who, What, When, Why, Where and How. ‘Creative Exploring’: What technology could we install in the ball to make it happen? Would adding something to what the ball is composed of make a difference? Are there any products in other industries that come close to this concept? How do homing pigeons know how to get home? Can this be duplicated in the world of technology or science? What cool thing could be added to a ball to make it happen? Etc. Etc. Etc. Keep Questioning and Shredding with Who, What, When, Why, Where and How.
SECTION FOUR
The Second Step: Exploring From the Creative Side
Remember this from earlier in the article? It’s my version of the opening of the Star Trek TV show: “Success: Your new frontier. This is about your Success Quest. Its immediate mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new ideas and develop new ways to be creative, to boldly go where no human has gone before.”
When you’re being creative there’s nothing you could do that’s wrong. “Explore the crazy, Embrace the wild and Dance with the “wondrously curious and passionate.” This is how you’ll break on through to the other side of the world of ordinary and shift your life into the world of extraordinary.
Be different and be proud of it. “Think” different. “See” different. Look at things upside down before your eyes see them right side up. Be the first on your block to “do it” and make a magical success of it.
“We were meant to explore this earth like children do… unhindered by fear… propelled by curiosity and a sense of discovery. Allow yourself to see the world through new eyes and know there are amazing adventures here for you.”
The day we stop exploring, stop questioning or stop being curious and creative is the day we commit to a life dialed back from ordinary, to a life of stagnation and hopelessness.
‘Baseline Exploring and Creative Exploring’ are enterprises that host mental and/or physical field trips “into the unknown.” ‘‘Baseline Exploring and Creative Exploring’ require confidence, curiosity, a tenacious inclination and a fierce determination to support this disposition.
SECTION FIVE
‘Creative Exploring’, as it is in ‘Baseline Exploring’, is conducted both in the physical world and the cerebral and virtual world. Where the Exploring Expedition begins is not important, but the quality and strength of the tools that you use to energize and impel it are paramount.
Being a successful ‘Creative Explorer,’ is essentially about how you naturally view and discern what’s in front of you and around you, and equally as important, is the intensity of your desire to be ‘Wondrously Curious and Adventurous.’
It’s also about having the desire and wherewithal to move the plain, straightforward, hardcore, unembellished facts, gleaned from your ‘Baseline Exploring’ Expedition, up and in to the mind’s creative center to be ‘Creatively Explored’ and transformed and eventually, letting ‘Experiment’ and ‘Wondrously Curious and Creative’ do their jobs.
As a reminder for the 10th time: The plain, straightforward, hardcore, unembellished ‘Baseline facts’ is the information that forms the foundation and “reality point of reference” for your ‘Creative Exploring’ Expedition. We do not roll-out the “creativity” at this point. That comes next when you upload this mundane information to your creative cerebral center.
SECTION SIX
It’s now time to get ‘Wondrously Creative.’
When the plain, straightforward, hardcore, unembellished baseline facts and information get uploaded to your creative cerebral center that’s when you must transform and morph into a wondrously curious and ‘Creative Explorer.’
Once in their rightful creative space, let your imagination run wild – take an opportunity, a problem, an idea, a suggestion, a thought and run with it to all extremes.
At this point we’re focused on combining the results of the ‘Baseline Exploring’‘ Expedition, the ‘Relevant Information Aggregation’ and the ‘Creative Exploring’ Expedition.
Exaggerate and embellish the opportunities or problems in your mind, both magnifying and minimizing them. Exercise your imagination with techniques aimed at awakening the imagination and targeting idea making.
SECTION SEVEN
The most effective tool, for use with ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’, that’s found in your Success Support Arsenal, is my article “Questions and Shredding” here on ItsAllPossible.com
The more information you aggregate and the more ideas you ‘Explore’ and generate, the better it is, because many of the ideas will be flawed or unachievable, but among them, there will be ideas that you can really run with, helping you to be as creative as can be.
THE BOTTOM LINE: This is all about helping you move from the ordinary to the extraordinary. It’s about digging deep and launching a timeless ‘Exploration Expedition’ to uncover as much information and, as many “original” and unconventional ideas, notions, situations and events as possible.
The hope is that your findings will lead to new and exciting information regarding personal or business opportunities that will enable you to start and eventually bring your Success Quest to victory.
“The only cure to all this madness; is too dream, far and wide and, if possibility doesn’t knock, create a damn door. If the shoe doesn’t fit, don’t make it. If the journey your travelling seems to farfetched and wild beyond your imagination; continue on it, great things come to the risk takers. And last but not least, live today; here, right now, you’ll thank your future self for it later.” ― Nikki Rowe
SECTION EIGHT
‘WONDROUSLY CURIOUS’ AND ‘CREATIVE EXPLORING’
Here are some suggested Exploration Tools and Tips for you to consider before you shove off and “boldly go where no human has gone before”:
Part #1- “DIVERGENT THINKING”
Divergent Thinking is an idea generating technique in which an idea is followed in several directions to lead to one or more new ideas, which in turn leads to still more ideas.
JUST A REMINDER: Please read my “Question and Shredding” article here on ItsAllPossible.com for powerful Success Support.
In contrast to Convergent Thinking, (which aims at solving a specific problem) Divergent Thinking is creative, open-ended thinking aimed at generating fresh views and novel solutions.”
‘Divergent Thinking’ is a Success Support Tool that serves as an idea generator using the “information aggregation” gleaned from your ‘Baseline and Creative Exploration’ Expeditions.
Divergent Thinking helps to break ideas down into its various ingredients in order to gain insight into the various aspects of that particular idea. This “breakdown” normally leads the ‘Creative Exploring’ in so many other exciting directions.
Divergent Thinking flows freely and is energized in an informal, impromptu environment where the ideas are hatched in an incidental and disordered course of events. Unexpected connections are often and wondrously uncovered.
Personality traits that promote Divergent Thinking include, but are not limited to, willingness to push and disrespect established creative boundaries (a good thing), curiosity, adventurous, tenacious and adaptable. If you feel comfortable with only one of these, then grab and hold on to “Curiosity.” Be Wondrously Curious and everything else will fall into place.
Activities which promote Divergent Thinking include but are NOT limited to:
- Create lists of questions regarding the idea, situation or event at hand. Break down all ideas and discoveries into subsets and use your questions to pull these ideas apart to create other ideas. Shred these ideas as far as you can. Start off by Creating your inquisitiveness around open-ended questions that all start with Who, What, When, Why, Where or How. Please see my ‘Question and Shredding ‘ article here on ItsAllPossible.com
- Setting aside time for thinking and reflection of all your research and conversations regarding the information or ideas you’re working on.
- Brainstorming.
- Taking walks in different locales and visit new surroundings. Notice the small, insignificant things around you.
- Join groups outside of your interest list and meet new people from all over the USA and around the globe.
- Read magazines and articles on new and different subjects.
- Launch fast and frequent missions to ‘Experiment’ with, and build ‘Experience’ in, situations and events outside of your normal everyday circumstances. Take day trips and fast runs to interesting places that are on your list of things “I normally don’t do”.
- “Creatively Explore” the Library: “Come to the books as you would come to an unexplored land. Come without a map. Explore it and draw your own map.” Stephen King
- Make it a deliberate practice to adopt the habit of “Positive Expectancy.” Look for and, expect to see odd and unique people, situations and events. See everything as an opportunity. Everything. Ask the following kinds of questions of all the sightings you come across: What if I, why is that, how to make that bigger and better, who else would enjoy that, what would happen if that was wider, etc. etc. etc.
- Document all your sightings, observations and perceptions. Carry and maintain a journal. Be aware of patterns forming.
- Become a “Googlearian”: Google common and/or bizarre words and/or phrases and they will bring to light the most amazing ideas and the most amazing routes to take for ‘Creative Exploring.’

SECTION NINE
Part #2- ‘MEDLEY WANDERING’
Wandering is the activity of the child, the passion of the genius; it is the discovery of the self, the discovery of the outside world, and the learning of how the self is both “at one with” and “separate from” the outside world. These discoveries are as fundamental to the soul as “learning to survive” is fundamental to the body. These discoveries are essential to realizing what it means to be human. To wander is to be alive.” ― Roman Payne, Europa: Limited Time Edition
Medley Defined: a varied mixture of people or things; Synonyms: assortment, miscellany, mixture, mélange, variety, mixed bag, grab bag, mix, collection, selection, potpourri.
Wandering Defined: walk or move in a leisurely, casual, or aimless way; Mental Wanderings; To move around, mentally and/or physically and go to different places usually without having a particular purpose or direction. The experience of thinking and not remaining on a single topic for a long period of time.
Used the correct way, ‘Medley Wandering’ could be a significant source of creative ideas and an integral part of ‘Creative Exploring’. Its purpose, and the significant emphasis is on conscious, productive, mental and/or physical wandering.
Next time you find yourself ‘Medley Wandering’ remember this: you and your mind do your best work when you and your mind are wandering. It’s Dedicated and Purposeful ‘Medley-Wandering’ that yield productive creativity.
Why the specificity? Why the particular words, Dedicated and Purposeful? What this means is that not all “Wandering” is created equal.
Mentally Wandering has been called various names, such as daydreaming, thought intrusions, task irrelevant thoughts, spontaneous thought, internally generated thoughts, self-generated thought, zoning out, offline thought, unconscious thought and undirected thought etc.”
Physically and/or mentally “zoning out” and spending time “aimlessly resolute”, is the essence of the concept I named ‘Medley Wandering.’ ‘Medley Wandering’ for our purposes, embraces and supports the concept of Creative Exploration. Medley Wandering is the indispensable part of ‘Creative Exploration’ that encourages and grants your mind free rein to “run loose and unfettered.”
Here’s How It Works:
1-You start off with ‘Baseline Exploring’. You bear down and accumulate the raw hard facts and the relevant information of the existing product, idea or situation. As our previous example noted: You want to invent a ball, that when it’s thrown, it automatically comes back to the person who originally threw it.
To begin, you first need to build a foundation and accumulate the unimaginative, raw data and facts of Who, What, When, Why, Where and How of a “BALL.”
Hyper-Focus and study the information that you gathered. Continue researching and gathering as many facts and as much information as possible. When you feel you have what you need, move on to step #2.
2- Shut it down and don’t think about it at all. Make like it doesn’t exist.
Relax and give your mind a rest and let your mind wander, yet remaining aware enough to recognize a sudden insight when it comes. Keep a few pens and pads nearby and be quick to record any insights that bubble up to the surface.
After a reasonable amount of time elapses, and depending on your time schedule, open the files and review the hard facts but do not acknowledge any insights recorded, yet. If you’re not satisfied with the hard facts that you accumulated, continue searching. If your satisfied, review it as many more times as it takes so that you remember all the facts and information that you accumulated.
3- Shut it down and don’t think about it once again. Make like it doesn’t exist. After a reasonable amount of time elapses and depending on your time schedule, open the files and review what you have. Proceed to then shut it down one more time and walk away, with pad and pen nearby. Get to thoroughly know all your aggregated information, inside and out. This is essential for the creative process. The more information you mentally process and absorb, the better results the creative process will produce.
4- Now is the time to let the dedicated, purposeful and intentional ‘Medley Wandering’ begin in an all- encompassing way. Now’s the time to let your mind play with the facts and relevant information and have some fun and run free.
“Creativity is the residue of time wasted.” ― Albert Einstein
Here’s where you start your ‘Creative Exploring’ with ‘Medley Wandering’ playing a starring role as opposed to its supportive role during ‘Baseline Exploring’. During Creative Exploring, Medley Wandering assumes a broader and more prominent position, and it becomes further interwoven and interconnected with the entire baseline and creative process.
Neuroscientists have found that when it comes to creativity, when moments of insight are needed and we’ve become stymied in our search for answers and ideas, the most powerful tool that we have at our disposal to open the gateway to any and all ideas and answers is the “walk-away.”
The “walk-away” is simply turning off the computer and taking a walk, away from the work you’re doing. You intentionally and deliberately relax and just clear your mind of the work you were doing and observe life’s gift’s and treasures. The kids, the flowers, the traffic going by, anything but the work you have to do.
You wander mentally and physically. When you start to wander and daydream your mind will take the hint, take over and start its playtime. You now let your mind run free and enjoy itself. It will bring back goodies for you. ‘Medley Wandering’ is a guilt free Success Support Tool that has been proven to produce extraordinary results.
Don’t bully the process to effect fast results for you. It won’t work. Don’t be afraid. Don’t feel like you’re being neglectful. Wandering is a highly respected and highly productive Success Support Tool. Let your mind do the work. It won’t let you down.
SIDE BAR: To Repeat… A new Success Support article for the following concepts is in the works. “As you begin to ‘Explore’, the first and foremost thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a “100% original idea.” There’s only “old ideas”, “cross-industry” ideas, “cross-pollinated ideas,” “crisscrossed ideas” and “refurbished ideas”, all used in creatively different combinations and in creatively different ways to create new and “original” ideas. Yes, that’s right, your success will rely on how well you learn how to recycle and rebuild.”
When Exploring is at the point where you have enough baseline and creative facts and information to start to test and investigate your findings: Meet ‘Experiment’
INTRODUCTION
“Dig Deep” is always great advice for an ‘Explorer.’ It’s about making a purposeful, relentless effort to discover what is needed for victory on your Success Quest.
It’s “leaving no stone unturned” and doing everything that you can in order to achieve an objective, aspiration, mission, goal, purpose or just finding answers to relevant and critical questions, all through the use of various and specialized means of diligent “Information Aggregation.’
Here in ‘Chapter 4: Experimenting,’ digging deep is still relevant and is essential for ‘Information Aggregation’ and accurately examining, assessing and evaluating newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events.
Experiment Defined: A procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test, confirm or verify a hypothesis, concept, situation, idea, or demonstrate a known fact. Synonyms: test, investigation, trial, examination, observation; assessment, evaluation, appraisal, analysis, study, research, experimentation, observation, analysis, testing.
To ‘Experiment’ is to apply all of the above and answer the following questions: What’s wrong with it? What’s right with it? What to do with it?
‘Experimenting’ is about embracing positive expectancy and truly understanding and absorbing the fact that anything’s possible and, that you just have to keep digging and never give up because, “you just never know” what you’re going to discover or uncover.
The positive expectancy that energizes the motivation behind ‘Exploring’ is also created from the fact that “You Just Never Know” what you’re going to discover or uncover. For this reason, it would serve you well, to view ‘Exploring’ as a never-ending boundless process and one that should be ready and able to be deployed 24/7.
The primal purpose of ‘Exploring’ is to use it to build a rocklike foundation with solid, trustworthy facts and information regarding the newly generated ideas and “objectives” and then, take this foundational information and the new ideas and concepts, creatively expand and move them up, out and forward to the next level where innovation and uniqueness thrive.
As this ‘Exploration’ process is turning and churning out new opportunities, objectives and possibilities, you should simultaneously be moving these new opportunities, objectives and possibilities into the ‘Experiment’ area to be scrutinized for future development . . .or not.
Once in the ‘Experiment’ phase the tight scrutiny begins.
KEEP IN MIND: ‘Exploring’ is looking for an opportunity, ‘Experimenting’ is examining, assessing and evaluating that opportunity and ‘Experience’ is knowing what to do with that opportunity and helping to affect a victorious Success Quest.
SECTION ONE
There Are Three Interdependent Steps of the ‘Experiment’ Process:
‘Experimenting’ is #1-examining, #2-assessing and #3-evaluating the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, that were all generated by your ‘‘Exploring’ and ‘Information Aggregation’ journey.
THE KEY POINT: The ‘Experiment’ phase is to determine whether or not, you’re going to be able to develop and bring any of these categories to a level, where they will generate prosperity and/or success for your personal or business Success Quest.
Experiment: #1 Examine, #2 Assess and #3 Evaluate
Part#1: Examine
Examine Defined: To inspect (someone or something) in detail to determine their nature or condition; investigate thoroughly. Synonyms: inspect, scrutinize, investigate, look at, study, scan, sift (through), probe, appraise, analyze, review, survey; informal check out.
Implementing an ‘Examination’ of the various and sundry newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, for their viability and then, moving them forward for assessment and evaluation, will hopefully lead to several full-blown development events, with all of them bound with a successful outcome.
There’s only two questions that you should always initially start off with when you embark on an ‘Examination’ or an ‘Information Aggregation’ of newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events:
What’s wrong with it? What’s right with it?
You notice I placed asking “what’s wrong with it” first. This is not me being negative nor was it an accident. ‘Information Aggregation’ for what’s “right” is easy. Digging and searching just for the “bright side” or “upside” is being shortsighted and in effect, it’s wearing “blinders” that could, and probably will, lead to misfortune, that could have been prevented, if a proper ‘Examination’ was fully implemented.
Only focusing on a “what’s right about it?” course of action, will allow everyone to maintain their fantasies and their dreams but, it fosters an environment of denial and irresponsibility by leading everyone to sidestep reality with the aftermath being, a recipe for mistakes and missteps, and probably worse.
What to do? Get your Tools out and go to work . . .
The following ‘Success Support Tools’ will empower, support and prepare you for your ‘Success Quest’ mission by uncovering and discovering, “what’s wrong with it?” and “What’s right with it?”
These ‘Success Support Tools’ will provide support by helping you examine, assess and evaluate the new ideas or creative concepts in order to be able to use them eventually to initiate the start of, or strengthen a current, or soon to be launched, Success Quest.
To Repeat and Emphasize: The following Success Support Tools are appropriate and useful for the next two phases as well: Assessing and Evaluating.
SECTION TWO
Suggested Success Support Tools to use to realize an adaptable, effective, all-out “opportunity and possibility” generating ‘Examination’:
Success Support Tool #1- Posi-Negativism:
Posi-Negativism: (a label I created) is the belief that “negative” emotions and a “negative mind’s-eye”, positively exist to protect, support and guide you in life and business. Negativism could be positive and productive and it is one of the most powerful tools (or weapon) you’ll ever come across.
“what’s wrong with it?” and “What’s right with it?”
The use of a “Negative Mind’s Eye” is to empower and enable you to “see” and “prevent” what could happen to impede your success. The job of Posi-Negativism and its “Negative Mind’s Eye” is to “Find it- fix it-move it” (2FM Concept) and these words should become the rule of law for your Success Quest.
Don’t waste precious time. Prevent or fix situations and move on.
The ‘Exploring’ process should always be turning and churning out newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, so you should never agonize about your decisions.
Even if you found information later on that shined a brighter light on a situation you rejected, you could always go back and reevaluate it. Nothing is forever. Stay nimble. Stay flexible. Don’t worry. Just keep moving forward even if it’s only an inch at a time.
Once the examination is complete the idea is either approved and sent to be assessed and evaluated, or its scrapped. Don’t waste precious time. Is it wrong, or right?
A Negative Mind’s Eye will be able to reveal, or uncover, information that could be harmful and create an adverse effect on your personal or business Success Quest.
It will also enable you to make decisions based on that information to ‘Find it’ wrong or right. It will enable you to decide to ‘Fix it’ or scrap it and ultimately it will help you make a well thought out decision to ‘Move it’ up to be assessed and evaluated or, drop it and move forward.
You know, that we know, that you know all the reasons why you’re going to absolutely, positively make it happen and make your dreams come true.
Just in case . . . Do you know what could derail your plans? Do you know what could precipitate your failure? Do you know how to discern the danger signs of your future or the signs for impending calamity? Unless you’re a clairvoyant or a fortune-teller the answer is obviously “no.”
Posi-Negativism, teamed up with a well-developed Negative Mind’s Eye, will help sharpen your intuitive, perceptive and discernment powers, which will in turn, enhance your observation abilities as to what’s coming at you “from the hindmost or beyond.”
For more comprehensive information on ‘Posi-Negativism’ and the ‘Negative Mind’s Eye’ please read my article here on ItsAllPossible.com entitled: The t.r.i.p Concept-Part 4 Positivity: This Concept Will Get You to The Starting Gate
This is not another article purely about “How to be Positive.”
This article is about using “negativism” to effect positive and productive outcomes for you and the people you care about. This article is about being real. This article is about victory for you and your Success Quest in life or business. This article is about your big picture.
This is one of four components that make up ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ that, in its entirety, is a powerfully energized and insightful tool in your Success Support Arsenal.
This article, this particular component, is about creating and coating you and your situation, or event, in an impenetrable shroud of protection and sustainability.
Your Success Quest, and it’s inevitable favorable outcome, needs to have a healthy mix of Positivity and Negativity. You need to know where you’re going and what you’re looking for. You need to move forward with “eyes wide open.” You need to have a positive, mentally fortified mind-set that you will be victorious.
SECTION THREE
Success Support Tool #2- Questions and Shredding:
ACTION ALERT: Questions & Shredding is the most powerful and essential Success Support Tool in your Success Support Arsenal. Use it freely and often in all your situations and events.
Everything you do in life will always lead back to ‘Information Aggregation’ and the quality and accuracy of your decisions will depend on the quality of the ‘Information Aggregated.’
One of the most powerful ways to glean relevant and accurate information happens to also be a Mega-Tool in your ‘Success Support Arsenal’. This Mega-Tool, ‘Questions and Shredding’, can unlock the mystery of success and lead you to victory on your Success Quest if you know the ‘Right Questions’ to ask and then, know how to apply the answers to an accurate and appropriate course of action.
This is a lengthy discussion, albeit a critical one, that deserves our deep respect and attention. To accomplish this end I suggest you read my article on ‘Questions and Shredding’ here on ItsAllPossible.com entitled, Questions & Shredding: The Most Powerful Tool in Your Success Support Arsenal. Are You Using it the Right Way?
Questions and Shredding’ is literally about asking questions, getting answers and then asking questions about those new answers you just got and, keep on repeating the process ad infinitum, until you can’t shred anymore.
To fortify and empower the “Questions and Shredding’ process, another powerful Support Tool of choice that should always be used along with ‘Questions and Shredding’ is, Team 5W+1: Who, What, When, Where, Why + How.
A member of Team 5W+1 could always precede each question and always be used to develop and compose all of them. Team 5W+1 produces open ended questions and open ended questions will lead to broader information and create an environment where the ‘Question and Shredding’ process will flourish.
SideBar: I also recommend that you read another article, also located here on ItsAllPossible.com, and learn about Curioposity. ‘Curioposity’ is made up of curiosity + positivity. The article is entitled “Curioposity: Adopt and Use This and Expect Great Things to Happen.” This will also be a powerful Support Tool for your ‘Examination’
SECTION FOUR
Success Support Tool #3- S.W.O.T:
A simple timeworn analysis Success Support Tool used in ‘Examining’ various and sundry opportunities, ideas, situations or events is known as S.W.O.T. When you have a personal or business decision to make, one of the more powerful things you can do is conduct a SWOT analysis along with the rest of the tools shown here on Its All Possible.
SWOT, which stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, is an analytical process that can help sort out all the information and facts aggregated and be able to effect a lucid and resolute decision making process wherever and whenever needed in the ‘Examination’ process.
The method was created in the 1960s by business gurus Edmund P. Learned, C. Roland Christensen, Kenneth Andrews and William D. Book in their book “Business Policy, Text and Cases” (R.D. Irwin, 1969).
Examining opportunities, objectives, ideas, situations or events from all angles, which includes an exhaustive look at all internal and external resources and threats should be a slow deliberate and painstaking effort to ensure accuracy and clarity. S.W.O.T. will help develop a full awareness of all the factors involved in the decision that will be made.
A S.W.O.T. analysis can serve as a precursor to any sort of personal or business action, such as exploring new initiatives, opportunities, ideas, situations or events, making decisions about new policies or rules at home or in the office, identifying possible areas for change, or modifying and diverting efforts and resources.
To carry out a SWOT analysis effectively consider each of the four SWOT areas in turn, and make note of all the ideas, suggestions and comments which are made. These can be reviewed and edited after the S.W.O.T. analysis session.
The method to use is to take a large sheet of plain paper, columnar paper, or a whiteboard, and split it into four separate sections with the headings reading: Heading #1 Strengths, Heading #2 Weaknesses, Heading #3 Opportunities and Heading #4 Threats.
Simply put, you’re looking to determine and closely scrutinize the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events by testing, investigating, observing, analyzing, studying, researching or of course, ‘Experimenting’ with each “item” that is turned and churned out from the ‘Exploring’ Process.
Based on all the information that you gleaned from your ‘Examination’ and by all of it being verified and made lucid by how it laid out after the S.W.O.T analysis, you’ll be able to decide whether or not to send that “item” forward for Assessment and Evaluation.
For more comprehensive information please morph into a Googlearian and visit this Google search link: S.W.O.T.
SECTION FIVE
Part #2: Assessment
Assessment Defined: To calculate or estimate the price or value of something. Synonyms: value, calculate, work out, determine, fix, cost, price, estimate. The process of objectively understanding the state or condition of a thing, by observation and measurement. Assess: estimate the nature, ability, or quality of. Synonyms: judge, gauge, rate, estimate, appraise, consider, get the measure of, determine, analyze; informal size up.
The next step in the ‘Experimenting’ process is ‘Assessment’ and for our purposes the definition of ‘Assessment’ refers to “cost.”
It’s about researching and uncovering the estimated and/or actual, implicit and explicit, current and future costs involved, before determining, if the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, have the potentiality to become a worthwhile and successful Success Quest.
At this point it must be determined if the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events considered, are a financially viable point of reference, from where a Success Quest could be financed, empowered, energized, enabled and ultimately, launched efficiently enough, to arrive across the finish line victoriously.
Implicit Costs Defined: suggested but not directly expressed;
Explicit Costs Defined: definitely stated, not merely implied.
Implicit costs, are difficult to calculate but could have a major impact on your personal or business Success Quest.
An example of an implicit cost is taking an extended vacation from your job and the additional time you’re taking is not covered by your earned paid vacation. Your explicit costs would be travel expenses which include the cost of a hotel room and costs related to food and entertainment. Another example would be having to hire your nasty nit-wit brother-in-law. Here you have a salary that’s going to waste and precluding you from hiring a competent person to do the job. This is an Implicit cost. This happens to also be an Explicit cost: The salary you have to actually pay your Brother-in-law.
Your implicit costs, which are sometimes called notional or opportunity costs, relate to the tradeoff of the additional wages forfeited or possibly the lost opportunity for advancement that you could have earned if the vacation was not taken. Think of implicit costs as opportunity costs, or ‘if things were different’ costs.
Explicit costs are real costs that are numerical, calculable, and can be tracked and balanced. Supplies, rent or mortgage payments, payroll, the cost of utilities such as electricity and gas, transportation, and even taxes – all of these are examples of explicit costs. If you can calculate a specific amount spent on your personal or business Success Quest, it’s an explicit cost.
Follow this Link : Examples of implicit costs by Investopedia
“Implicit costs are technically not incurred and therefore cannot be measured accurately for accounting purposes. There are no cash exchanges in the realization of implicit costs. However, they are important costs to ascertain because in business they help managers make effective decisions on behalf of the company. They are also invaluable for your personal Success Quest, especially when you think of them as ‘if things were different’ costs.
Examples of implicit costs include the loss of interest income on funds, and the depreciation of machinery for a capital project. Implicit costs can also be intangible costs that are not easily accounted for, such as situations in which an owner allocates time toward the maintenance of a company, rather than allocating those hours elsewhere. In most cases, implicit costs are not recorded for accounting purposes.
When a company hires a new employee, for example, there are implicit costs to train that employee. If a manager allocates eight hours of an existing employee’s day to teach this new team member, the implicit costs would be the existing employee’s hourly wage, multiplied by eight. This is because the hours could have been allocated toward the employee’s current role.
A WORD OF ADVICE: In corporate (or personal) finance decisions, implicit costs should always be considered when coming to a decision on how to allocate company (or personal) resources.”
Click on this link, Explicit vs Implicit costs, for more information.
To Make It Easier I’m using the word “Objective” to represent: “newfound indispensable facts, questions, information, “original” and unique ideas, undeveloped and abstract concepts, ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events.
URGENT: Assessing and determining all your personal and business costs are critical in order for you to be able to responsibly, accurately and properly decide how, and if, you’re going to move the new “objective” or “objectives” forward, for further development.
“Costs” are a far-reaching and essential part of the decision-making process and they will be a far-reaching and essential help in determining: What’s wrong with it? What’s right with it?
ADVICE: Use all the ‘Information Aggregation’ tools that we discussed in the ‘Examine’ section to assess the “objectives and shred it apart until your confident that this is the “one” for you. By using these tools you’ll uncover additional relevant information and create many more applicable and appropriate questions, for use in your assessment investigation.
SECTION SIX
Assessment Too: Lets’ talk “RISK”
RISK DEFINED: 1-Situation involving exposure to danger. 2-The possibility that something unpleasant or unwelcome will happen. 3-Expose (someone or something valued) to danger, harm, or loss.
You cannot talk “cost ” without including the topic of “risk.”
There is “risk” in every single thing we do. Most of the time it’s not evident enough for us to clearly discern it and at other times unfortunately, it rears its ugly head and gets up in our face quite unexpectedly. Most times we never even think about it.
‘Risk’ is an integral and intrinsic part of figuring cost or assessing value of (one more time) any new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solute ns, opportunities, objectives, situations or events. It’s an inherent “ingredient” of your personal or business Success Quest and at best, it’s a frenemy, and on the other end of reality, it could be your worst nightmare coming true.
It’s the unknown that brings fear, anxiety and stress more than the actual “risk” does, when identified. The good news is that there is a way to work with, or eliminate, this fear, anxiety and/or stress. The way to minimize or eliminate these feelings generated by the unknown and some level of “risk” that accompanies it, is to “pull back the curtain”, see it for what it is and, then handle it accordingly.
Please let me explain: The subject of “risk” is enormous with an incalculable number of books and articles written about it. For more comprehensive information about “risk” put on your Googlearian cap and follow these 3 links:
More on “Risk” . . . some more on “Risk” . . . and even some more on “risk”
As a critical part of “Experiment/Assessment Too’ and for the purposes of analyzing and identifying the “risks” surrounding our newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, the meaning of “risk” for us, is “what’s the worst that could happen to us?”
Put another way: Our goal is to find out: What’s the worst that could happen to us? How can we identify the “risk” and work with it? How often could these adverse and challenging situations or events happen?
The Bottom Line: Dedicated ‘Information Aggregation’ will reinforce and support your investigation and pursuit of “Risk Assessment and Mitigation.” ‘Information Aggregation’ will be a huge helping hand in trying to discover the most accurate and meaningful answer to the most complex and tortuous question known to mankind: Do you know what you don’t know?
URGENT REMINDER: Use all the ‘Information Aggregation’ tools that we discussed in the ‘Examine’ section to identify, question, and assess the “risk” and shred it apart until your confident that you uncovered as many “risky” situations as possible. By using these tools you’ll uncover additional relevant information and create many more applicable and appropriate questions for use in your “Risk Assessing and Mitigation.”
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I also want to emphatically suggest reading and reviewing ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ and ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ both located here on ItsAllPossible.com. These 2 concepts, used interdependently, will faithfully provide you with a comprehensive Success Quest framework and powerful tools for your Success Support Arsenal.
The notion of trying to determine up front all the various things that ‘could’ go wrong is definitely a difficult task to undertake. Many a project that has hit rough times (or failed completely) can often find its troubles attributed to an unforeseen problem that was not adequately taken into account up front.
Now while no one has a crystal ball and can foresee every single issue that may (or may not) arise, it is important to still make a discerned effort into assessing as many conceivable “risks” and derive action plans to contend with them.
Efforts to ‘Assess and Mitigate Risk’ offers opportunities for risk avoidance, risk prevention and risk reduction. ‘Risk Assessment and Mitigation’ in its purest form is the identification, classification and prioritization of risks.
SECTION SEVEN
Success Support Tools for ‘Risk Assessment and Mitigation’
There are 5 basic steps for ‘Risk Assessment and Mitigation’: Identify –Analyze – Evaluate-Action- Modify.
The following Success Support Tools from your Success Support Arsenal will aid in taking these steps and help to assess, mitigate and to deflect and shift the risk to its proper place. These Success Support Tools will create a framework and platform for you from where you’ll be able decide how to handle the ‘Risk.’
Success Support Mitigation ‘Risk’ Tool #1
Meet the Beast Buster: The basic configuration of this course of action is: identify, verify, classify, modify and Actify.
- “Actify” Defined: Meriam Webster Dictionary- Verb- Initiate something; Start a function.
I use this course of action in its entirety, or I adjust and adapt the individual pieces to the situation at hand. It’s a flexible process and steps that are appropriate for your situation should be added.
The most important aspect of this process is that it serves as another very reliable and compelling tool in your Success Support Arsenal that’s used in the ‘Information Aggregation’ during ‘Explorations’, ‘Experiments’, investigations, detection, identification, expositions, education and fact-finding.
Of course, I also use this process to gather, evaluate and categorize all the information I need in any situation.
You’ll find a comprehensive explanation of the ‘Beast Buster’ in my article: “How to Cope, Survive and Thrive on Your Personal or Business Success Quest” located right here on ItsAllPossible.com
Success Support Mitigation ‘Risk’ Tool #2
The Triad Players: All found here on ItsAllPossible.com
- Information Part #1: For your review: Information Part #1: To Succeed at Anything You Need to Know How to Get it, How to Use It, Why You Need it
- Curioposity: “Curioposity” is made up of curiosity + positivity. It’s my creation. You could and should read about it, here on ItsAllPossible.com. The title of the article is, “Curioposity: Adopt and Use This and Expect Great Things to Happen.”
- Questions: In addition, to be able to get the full impact of the power of the Triad Players please also read my article on “Questions and Shredding” here on ItsAllPossible.com. The title of the article is Questions & Shredding: The Most Powerful Tool in Your Success Support Arsenal. Are You Using it the Right Way?
In addition:
- ONCE AGAIN, AN URGENT REMINDER: Use all the ‘Information Aggregation’ tools that we discussed in the ‘Examine’ section to assess “Risk” and shred it apart until your confident that you uncovered as many situations as possible. By using these tools you’ll uncover additional relevant information and create many more applicable and appropriate questions, for use in your “Risk Assessing and Mitigation.”
In Addition One More Time: Read up on the subject of ‘Risk:
- For more comprehensive information about “risk” put on your Googlearian cap and follow these links: More on “Risk” . . . some more on “Risk” . . . and even some more on “risk”
What to do with the “Risks’ that were Identified–Analyzed – Evaluated?
Once the ‘Risks’ have been identified and you’ve taken the proper steps to understand their consequences, you’re now ready to decide to deflect and shift or eliminate the ‘Risk’ entirely.
Here are 4 options suggested by “Program Success.” These 4 options are applicable to your personal or business Success Quest.
- Avoid the Risk – This may seem obvious, but it is an actual technique. There are instances where a perceived risk can be avoided entirely if certain steps are taken. An example of this might be a concern over a vendor supplying a given deliverable at a specific timeframe. It may be decided to perform the actual work for the deliverable in-house thereby eliminating the risk of the external vendor.
- Reduce the Risk – While some risks cannot be avoided, they can be reduced. This may be accomplished by fine tuning aspects of the overall project plan or making adjustments to specific areas of scope. Whatever the case, reducing a risk reduces the impact it will have on your project.
- Share the Risk – If a certain risk cannot be avoided or reduced, steps can be taken to share the risk in some way. Perhaps a joint venture with a third-party will reduce the downside risk for the organization as a whole. This could reduce the sunk cost and potential losses of the project if sharing of risk results in it being spread out over several different individuals or groups.
- Retain the Risk – This is actually a judgement call. Once all options are exhausted, the team members, sponsor and project manager may just decide to retain the risk and accept the downside potential as is. This decision is usually made by first determining the upside potential of the project. If it is deemed that the project’s expected upside far outweighs the sunk cost and downside, then the risk itself may be worth it. Note that in certain cases, insurance can be used to mitigate the downside, although the actual risk retention itself is what is being accepted by the team.
THE GOOD NEWS: The message here is that you have it in your power to exert some influence and some control over potential ‘risks.’ It’s your desire, determination and fortitude that will aid you in achieving this. It’s having an intense level of curiosity, desire, determination and fortitude that will drive the quality and effectiveness of your ‘Information Aggregation’ mission and enable you to detect, deflect and shift obvious or concealed ‘risks.’
SECTION EIGHT
Part #3: Evaluation
For our purposes, the definition of ‘Evaluation’ or ‘Evaluations, is a set of statements or activities that seek to point out whether the ‘objectives’ were proven to be viable and, had the potential to generate the excitement and a big enough incentive, that would be needed to start, or shore up, a personal or business Success Quest.
‘Evaluating’ newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events is the process of observing and measuring a thing for the purpose of judging it and of determining its “value,” either by comparison to similar things, or to a standard.
THE KEY POINT: The ‘Evaluation’ process is the last part of the inquiry or ‘Experiment’ Process and involves basically, deciding whether the “objective” is a good idea, or not and, if it is, then the question arises, “is it worth developing” in the final process of ‘Experience.’
‘Evaluation’ can result in one of three potentialities: 1-The objective “as is”, is worth it and can be moved forward for full throttle development, 2- It’s a mediocre or an obvious waste of time and should be dropped or 3- it’s a great idea but has to be tweaked, modified or adjusted.
Here, in ‘Evaluation’, the last phase of the ‘Experiment’ process, everything comes together and a decision is made to move, or not to move, the ‘Objective’ into the development phase where ‘Experience’ or ‘No Experience’ becomes the next key ingredient in the Success Quest ‘Information Aggregating’ process.
THE BOTTOM LINE: ‘Evaluation’ is a determination to find the relative worth, merit, importance or value of something. It takes everything into account including, but not limited to, explicit and implicit costs, risks, personal commitment affects and effects, alignment with your goals and/or purpose, enlist partners or not, personnel needed, and marketing feedback.
How do you know whether newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events are going to succeed if you implement them and move them forward?
You start by ‘Evaluating’ them, that’s how.
It’s always an intense and precarious exercise but, it’s one that’s manageable with a little help from the following Success Support Tools found in your Success Quest Arsenal:
The “POEM” Framework: Product (or Project) Opportunity Evaluation Matrix’
One of the biggest challenges faced with ‘Information Aggregating’ and then ‘Evaluating the newfound information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, situations or events, is the lack of business models, life models or best practices available to use in investigating and discovering if these ‘objectives’ are viable for all-out development.
That is the challenge that led to the creation of the ‘Product (or Project) Opportunity Evaluation Matrix’ or POEM framework. The POEM Framework is an opportunity evaluation framework for new ideas or concepts.
It can be used to identify strengths and weaknesses for individual ideas or, to compare overall strength of several ideas to determine which opportunities are most likely to bring success. By taking this approach, one can take a more informed approach to determining whether to develop newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events.
To explain how the POEM Framework works here in this article, and give it the respect and coverage it deserves, would not be practical, space-wise.
Strongly Recommended: For more comprehensive information on how to use the POEM Framework, and it’s definitely worth the “trip”, please visit this Google Search via this link: POEM FRAMEWORK
Please note: The POEM Framework, as all your Success Support Tools are capable of doing, can be used for your personal or business Success Quests. All you need to do to is modify any one of them to fit the situation you’re involved with.
As an example: When using the POEM Framework on a personal Success Quest, you might replace “customer” with “Boss or Friend” if that’s what you’re working with.
In addition to this Success Support Tool, the others that have been highlighted in this article can also be used at anytime and anywhere they’re needed in the ‘Evaluation’ part of the ‘Experiment’ process.
SECTION NINE
Another Success Support Tool that I created and could be used as a guide for the ‘Evaluation’ process, or any other ‘Information Aggregating’ mission you need to go on is ‘The ‘ize’ Application’: Recognize, Customize, Prioritize and Actualize
Onward and Upward to The ‘ize’ Application:
Step 1- Recognize:
Gather all the information accumulated from the ‘Examination’ and ‘Assessment’ phases. Review everything. Continue the ‘Questions & Shredding’ process and use Team 5W+1: Who, What, When, Where, Why + How, to build the open-ended questions to shred.
Write down all your thoughts and everything that emerges from the ‘Questions and Shredding’ process, no matter how crazy they appear to be. It’s called Mind-Dumping. Don’t judge, criticize, modify or delete. Let it roll and don’t stop.
After a few days of ‘Questions & Shredding’ and ‘Mind-Dumping’ stop and leave it sit for 1-2 days and not think about it again. When you come back to it, now with a rested mind, review the information once more and see what materializes.
Step 2- Customize:
Here’s where you want to build your foundation with the standards and reference points that you feel you could use to determine if the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract ideas, concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events should, or could, move on to be developed.
Think about your life purpose, your goals, your dreams, your personal life commitments and take it all and “dip” them in “reality.” Ask questions, set standards and set reference points that reflect your physical and emotional reality. Be real and honest with yourself. This will be your Success Compass and it gets its energy and accuracy from your “truth” and nothing but . . .
Step 3-Prioritize:
Here’s where you decide if the “item” belongs in one of three categories:
1- Trash it.
2-Exciting, Pass it through.
3- Could be. Tweak it and Re-Evaluate it.
Step 4- Actualize:
Initialize: Take one last “Evaluation”, one last “look.” Get ready . . . Get Set . . .???
Authorize: Yea or Nay???
Finalize: Yea? Get it ready to move on to development. Nay? Shelve it or Trash it.
Actualize: One last look and off to development… Time to make it a reality.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The above 4 steps of the “ize” application should be a barren “board” when starting. Everyone is different with different Success Quests but the “ize” application should be used in the same way by everyone. I just laid out each step in a simple manner to show what each step could or should be. It’s your mission, if you choose to accept it, to fill them all in.
Last Word: The ‘ize’ Application is simply a powerful Success Support Tool that will help you “keep your ‘ize’ on the ball.”
SECTION TEN
ONE MORE TIME: To fortify and empower the ‘Evaluation’ phase, using the “Questions and Shredding’ process will especially be helpful. As I mentioned earlier, another powerful Success Support Tool of choice that could always be used along with ‘Questions and Shredding’ is, Team 5W+1: Questions that start off with Who, What, When, Where, Why + How.
In addition to Team 5W+1 questions: Here are some open ended suggested ‘information aggregation’ questions that you could use in ascertaining if an “objective” is worthwhile:
- Does the “objective” make sense and is it in alignment with your purpose and/or goals?
- Is the value and costs of the “objective” manageable and do you truly understand the intrinsic and extrinsic value of it?
- Consider who you’re trying to impress or win over. Is this really good for them or just for you and your Success Quest?
- Is it really a viable “objective” or an ego driven objective?
- Determine if it’s a “good use” of your resources, how it’s a “good use” and which resource or resources is it a “good use” of?
- Have you made a business or a personal plan? This could be a simple pad with your purpose, goals and dreams and your thoughts about how you’re going to get to where you want to go.
- Do your due diligence, research, dig deep and ask yourself: Is it a sustainable “objective?”
- Is the “objective” worth it based on the risks involved?
- Is there a viable and sustainable future to be had with this “objective?” If so, how do you know?
You could always simply summarize and start listing everything that you uncovered and discovered in the total ‘Experimenting’ process on paper, with two columns: Column #1 Favorable Factors and Column #2 Unfavorable Factors to help decide on the next move.
If you were diligent and serious about your ‘information aggregation’ you should be able to decide What’s wrong with it? What’s right with it? and move it forward to ‘Experience’ to develop the objective. . . or not.
DON’T FORGET: ‘Exploring’ is looking for an opportunity, ‘Experimenting’ is examining, assessing and evaluating that opportunity and ‘Experience’ is knowing what to do with that opportunity and helping to affect a victorious Success Quest.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: A Quest, is a search or pursuit, made to find or obtain something.
SUPER IMPORTANT: Being eternally curious, perpetually asking questions, becoming a chronic “Googlearian and beyond” and being on a relentless mission of ‘Information Aggregation’ will ensure that your personal or business Success Quest will receive the right directions that will ultimately lead you to victory.
JUST AS SUPER: Use all the ‘Information Aggregation’ tools that we discussed in the ‘Examine’ section to assess the objective and shred it apart until your confident that this is the “one” for you. By using these tools you’ll uncover additional relevant information and create many more applicable and appropriate questions, for use in your assessment investigation.
The Bottom Line: Assessment and evaluation are the terminal ends of all inquiries and ‘Experiments.’ They need each other, and they support one another. Assessment is done at the beginning of the ‘Experiment’, whereas evaluation is usually done at the end.

REMINDER: ‘Exploring’ is looking for an opportunity, ‘Experimenting’ is examining, assessing and evaluating that opportunity and ‘Experience’ is knowing what to do with that opportunity and helping to affect a victorious Success Quest.
‘Success Quest’ Defined: A Quest is a search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something. It’s about shifting your life from ordinary to better than ordinary, or up and out to extraordinary.
INTRODUCTION
In this next phase of the ‘The p.e.e.e Concept,’ Chapter #5: ‘Experience’, our interest lies in deciding how to develop, and bring to the starting gate, any of the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events that were identified and then substantiated in the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ phases.
REMEMBER: ‘Exploring’ is looking for an opportunity, ‘Experimenting’ is examining, assessing and evaluating that opportunity and ‘Experience’ is knowing what to do with that opportunity and helping to affect a victorious Success Quest.
Our goal and purpose is to find the energy cells that generate life and purpose to any of the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events.
Every idea or “opportunity” in the ‘Experience’ phase, is now there because of the intense scrutiny and research that you applied in the ‘Explore’ and ‘Experiment’ phases and, anyone of them, could rise and show itself to be the gateway to spectacular success.
KEEP IN MIND
The prerequisite for a successful ‘Experience’ phase, is to embrace and understand the concept of ‘Openness.’ When ‘Openness’, with its refreshing, low-key, self-assured nature, is used with the diligence and respect it deserves, it will present the key that opens this gateway and thus, the access to spectacular opportunities and success.
Openness Defined: ‘Openness’ is an overarching concept or philosophy that is characterized by an emphasis on transparency and free, unrestricted access to knowledge and information, as well as collaborative or cooperative interaction, on and within, your personal or business Success Quest.
In other words, ‘Openness’ means having a well-functioning, receptive and curious attitude that enables a person to receive opportunities, new ideas or new situations without reservation or prejudice, until the proper research and due diligence can be performed.
THE BOTTOM LINE: ‘Experience’ is about being ‘Open’ to initiating and carrying through on the results of the ‘Information Aggregation’ that flowed from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experimenting’ phases of ‘The p.e.e.e Concept.’
‘Experience’ is also about being “Open” to new ideas and opportunities and getting totally immersed and all-in when faced with the new developmental challenges and situations especially, if and when, they go beyond your comfort zone and your comprehension (“knowing and understanding”) levels.
MOST IMPORTANT: The most important point to understand and remember about ‘Experience’ is that ‘Experience’ is being ‘Open-Minded’ to any and all of your research: past, present and future, before passing judgement on its potential for a viable, sustainable Success Quest.
SECTION ONE
Let’s keep Moving Forward
In ‘Exploring’ and then ‘Experimenting’ you searched and found the answers to the questions “What’s wrong with it?” and What’s right with it?” regarding the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, new, undeveloped and abstract concepts, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events, that you identified and verified.
Now, here in ‘Experience,’ the third question that must be answered is “What to do with it?”
YOUR MISSION
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept it: Recognize, Customize, Prioritize and finally, Actualize, all the ‘Information Aggregation’ that arrived in ‘Experience’ from ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experimenting’ then choose and lead the best “opportunities” to the starting gate and launch your Success Quest.
Your Success Support Tool for this life-changing event: ‘The ‘ize’ Application’- Recognize, Customize, Prioritize and Actualize. ‘The ‘ize’ Application’ can be found in ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Part #5 persistence, right here on It’s All Possible OR in this article, Chapter 4 ‘Experiment’ Part #3 ‘Evaluation’; Section 9.
Let’s Begin
What is really meant by ‘Experience’?
‘EXPERIENCE’ DEFINED:
- Practical contact with and observation of facts or events. Synonyms: involvement in, participation in, contact with, acquaintance with, exposure to, observation of, awareness of, insight into
- The knowledge or skill acquired by experience over a period of time. Synonyms: skill, knowledge, to know, practical knowledge, understanding;
- An event or occurrence that leaves an impression on someone. Encounter or undergo (an event or occurrence). Synonyms: undergo, encounter, meet, come into contact with, come across, come up against, face, be faced with
- To feel (an emotion).
The Premise for ‘Experience’ for any Purpose: As you can see, ‘Experience’ means many different things in many different situations. The one and only priority for you in any situation should be to get to know and understand the information that was brought together from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experimenting’ phases.
In my opinion, ‘Experience’, has only one simple meaning in any situation that you face in life or business and that’s: ‘Experience’ = Knowledge + Understanding
Important to Remember: ‘Experience’ is acquiring Knowledge and Understanding by way of “Information Aggregating” where the information is gleaned and perceived by any one, or more, of the 5 senses, realized from articles, books or second and third hand stories or, encountered first hand, by being embraced by real life “belly to belly” events.
What this means to you is that you don’t allow lack of ‘Experience’, or more accurately “lack of knowledge or understanding,” to intimidate you or deter you from pursuing the goals, dreams, situations or events that mean so much to you. ‘Experience’ is simply about Knowing and Understanding and, it doesn’t have to only emanate from your personal cerebral talent.
I’ll explain. Let’s keep moving.
What’s Next?
“Whatever your goal in life, the beginning is knowledge and experience” Henry Ford
You’ve sorted out all the information from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ phases. The winners, the maybe’s and the losers have all been identified, classified and separated. The winners have now arrived and you have moved them into this phase, ‘Experience’, and at this point in time, your next step is to: “Accept the fact that you’re not so smart”, especially, if you really are, and move forward feeling secure about this.
You read that right.
Your chances of success are much more powerful if you ignore everything you know and become a beginner.
Start all over, dumb it down, play “make believe” and assume you know nothing. Feel blessed if you’re really not up on all the information that you need. Feel blessed if you’re truly a beginner and have to dig deep for the information. This is a great time for you.
“If your mind is empty, it is ready for anything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities; in the expert’s mind there are few.” Shunryu Suzuki (Author of Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind)
Just a Reminder: The most important point to understand about ‘Experience’ is that ‘Experience’ is being ‘Open-Minded’ to any and all of your research: past, present and future, before passing judgement on its potential for a viable, sustainable Success Quest.
KEY POINT: The number one stumbling block to success in life or business, the absolute number one obstacle, is “Not Knowing What You Don’t Know” AND, “Not trying to do something about it.”
Only diligent research and extreme scrutiny can help obtain many of the answers you need to “know what you don’t know.” ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experimenting’ helped you achieve most of that. At this point, you should have much of the information you need. Needing new, or additional, information should not present a problem for you.
As I mentioned in ‘Exploring’ you will always be “Information Aggregating’. It should be an ongoing process. Ideas and opportunities fall apart and fall out all the time. New updated information should always be at your fingertips ready for scrutiny, whether you need it at that moment or not.
Thinking you’re very smart and have all the answers has a way of hindering and distorting opportunities for sound decisions and judgements. Intelligence or “I know everything I need to know” is a dangerous attitude to have and life’s highway is littered with people with self-inflicted, sometimes fatal, “smart” wounds.
Do not assume anything. Take nothing for granted. Take these initial steps to start the opportunity development process:
- Take a few days off before you start the ‘Experience’ phase and rest your eyes, mind and especially, your “mind’s eye.”
- After a few days start to review all the information once again with an eye on “Developmental Worthiness.” To kick off the development process apply my ‘Question and Shredding’ process located here on Its All Possible.
Thinking you’re the smartest and the greatest will bring many detrimental distractions to your new Success Quest, including but not limited to, over-thinking, over-analyzing and over-estimating. The combination of all or any of these could lead to significant setbacks or worse, total failure.
A few words of advice: Be a Beginner + Be Humble = You’ll Be OK. To be successful and stay successful in life and business, being a “beginner” should be a daily exercise for you, your team, your family and your friends. A simple way to achieve this is to, even if you know the answer, always ask: Who, What, When, Why, Where and How. ‘Questions and Shredding’ will produce amazing results for you and your Success Quest ad infinitum.
SECTION TWO
For our purposes, the discussion of ‘Experience’, as it relates to ‘Knowledge + Understanding’, is quite relevant within the boundaries and borders of ‘The p.e.e.e Concept.’
“Experience is the teacher of all things” Julius Caesar
POINT OF REFERENCE: The ‘Experience = Knowledge + Understanding’ maxim is about cumulative ‘Information Aggregation’ and the subsequent Examination’, ‘Assimilation’ and ‘Determination’ of this information that has been gleaned from various sources.
The information that has arrived from the “Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ phases has traveled a tortuous and impactful route and now, has made it to the final cuts.
This is a defining moment for your future. Your next step is going to be based on the ‘Information Aggregated’ and what you expect to do with it. This is the moment that you will decide what route you’re going to take and how you’ll travel along this route to achieve a victorious Success Quest.
BUT I DIGRESS. . .
Your specific findings, regarding the newfound indispensable facts, new and exciting questions to be answered, new pivotal and consequential information, “original” and unique ideas, solutions, opportunities, objectives, situations or events will have unique and specific information and questions that should and must be addressed.
Not knowing exactly what your findings are and what your Success Quest will be, I can only work with Success Support Tools that could be applied and utilized with any findings or any Success Quest. You can modify any of these, as I explained earlier, to accommodate your needs.
Let’s Move On. . .
Important to Know: It’s now time to apply the ‘Experience=Knowledge + Understanding’ maxim to the “Information Aggregated” and implement the final equation of Examination + Assimilation + Determination to any and all opportunity prospects for your Success Quest.
What does Knowledge + Understanding really mean and what’s the difference?
What the Dictionary says:
Knowledge/Knowing: 1-The fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association.2-Be acquainted with (a thing, place, person, etc.), as by sight, experience, or report: to know the mayor. 3-To understand from experience or attainment (usually followed by how before an infinitive) 4-have knowledge or information concerning; be absolutely certain or sure about something; Be familiar or acquainted with (something); Have personal experience of (an emotion or situation).
Understanding:1-The ability to understand something; comprehension. synonyms: comprehension, apprehension, grasp, mastery, appreciation, assimilation, absorption; More knowledge, awareness, insight, skill, expertise, proficiency; 2- the power of abstract thought; intellect. 3-an individual’s perception or judgment of a situation.
What I Say:
The difference between Knowledge and Understanding: You “Know how to drive” but do you really “Understand” what happens after you turn the car on to make it move?” You “Know” your best friend but do you really “Understand” her.
“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.” Albert Einstein
“Knowledge,” energizes and initiates the beginning of a Success Quest while “Understanding” will help take you across the finish line.
But I Digress . . .
ONE MORE TIME: What this means to you is that you don’t allow lack of ‘Experience’, or more accurately “lack of knowledge or understanding,” to intimidate you or deter you from pursuing the goals, dreams, situations or events that mean so much to you. ‘Experience’ is simply about Knowing and Understanding and, it doesn’t have to only emanate from your personal cerebral talent.
What’s it Really All About?
Men and women of all ages get very creative and very convincing when it comes to justifying and explaining away why success is out of their reach.
I don’t believe that any of their reasons are valid in the physical world. I believe that they’re self- contained mental and physical boundaries and borders created to maintain a human’s ego and/or appease their fears.
I believe that when someone wants something bad enough they should at least attempt to move it forward. I also believe that to not make an attempt is to undervalue and underestimate the human spirit. It’s denying yourself the chance to be all that you were meant to be and to have the chance to lift the people you love to new and exciting levels in life.
You don’t know what you could do or not do, unless you make that attempt towards the starting line. If you just attempt to make that start and then, as you slowly move forward, you mix it with a strong resolve, the most amazing swirl of “good luck” starts to wash over you.
Just starting, just moving forward on your Success Quest, taking little steps and cautious steps, ignites the fire that powers the human spirit.
The ‘Experience’ phase is where you’re going to meet “reality” and have to answer the question “What are you going to do with it?” It’s now the time to move forward and develop the great ideas and opportunities that you identified during the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ phases.
It’s time to take a deep breath, muster up some courage and move yourself forward and closer to your goals and dreams. It’s a scary time and it’s an exciting time. You could describe what your “feeling” as anxiety, stress, electrifying, hair-raising, thrills and chills and the most overwhelming adjective of all: Fear . . . of Failing, and you would be spot on with all of them.
This is all normal. First and foremost, it’s because the future is indeterminable and you’re not a fortune teller. It’s also because you realize that you may lack the ‘Experience’, or the Knowledge and Understanding, that would enable you to choose and develop the correct ideas and/or opportunities. You ask: “How do I know which one will work?” You don’t, but you will. You’ll be able to make “educated” guesses, and no matter which way it goes, you’ll rise to the occasion and make it work.
It’s the unknown that’s getting to you. The good news is that there are ways to confront the unknown head-on. Getting in the face of the unknown, boldly, confidently and with determination, will ensure that the future will swing more in your favor.
The most effectual personality components and state of mind to use in working around and with the “Unknown” is your attitude and your self-confidence. Making use of the appropriate Success Support Tools in your Success Support Arsenal (mentioned throughout this article) will actualize and bolster up a “conquering” attitude and a fortified self-confidence.
SECTION THREE
“Please Bear with Me”
I’m including the following brief discussion in ‘Experience’ because here’s where most people “turn and run” and sentence themselves to a life of regret and resentment.
I smoked cigarettes for over 35 years. I wasn’t afraid of dying from smoking I was afraid of becoming a pulmonary cripple. I was certainly on my way towards that situation. Another few years and an oxygen tank would have been my constant companion. I did stop. It was the hardest thing I ever decided to do.
It took me one year to quit. I made over “150” foiled attempts that year. One day, like a miracle, all the striving finally kicked in. It’s 14 years later and I have not smoked.
The method: “I refused to stop striving to quit.”
I Repeat: “I refused to stop striving to quit.”
I failed every other day and then I started fresh the next day. My self-control finally yielded to my persistence and I was on the way to a smoke-free life.
This “adventure” answered the enduring question that I’ve always asked myself: “If you keep on striving and categorically refuse to give in to obstacles and other distractions, how can you ever really fail?
This was powerful knowledge for me to have: “Continuous Attempts” plus “Ceaseless Striving” were the unintimidating key elements in making the life-saving changes I needed to make. I clearly understood this.
The Bottom Line: I was determined to at least make an attempt to stop smoking but more compelling than that, I was absolutely resolved to never stop striving to give up cigarettes.
Attempt Defined: 1-To Try; 2- Make an effort to achieve or complete something, typically a difficult task or action; 3- An act of trying to achieve something, typically one that is unsuccessful or not certain to succeed “she attempted a comeback in 1989.”
Strive Defined: 1-To Fight; 2-Make GREAT efforts to achieve or obtain something. 2-struggle or fight vigorously. 3- to make strenuous efforts toward any goal: to strive for success. 4-to contend in opposition, battle, or any conflict; compete. 5- to struggle vigorously, as in opposition or resistance: 6-to strive against fate. 7-Make great efforts to achieve or obtain something. “National movements were striving for independence.” 8-Struggle or fight vigorously. “scholars must strive against bias”
I was actually afraid to stop smoking. I couldn’t see how I could. At that point I was smoking four packs a day.
HOW I STOPPED: This is when I decided not to get myself crazy, fearful and obsessive and that making “just an attempt” would be okay as long as I back it up with a commitment to never stop striving and to never give up.
I could fail every single day but back off permanently? Never.
Accepting failure after failure was now more tolerable because I knew that I was not going to give up striving to stop even if it took me years to do it. If I screwed up and reverted back to a smoker I would start all over again the next morning if need be.
I wasn’t going to beat myself up.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Here’s where “The one critical reason lack of knowledge and understanding should not hold you back from realizing boundless success” finally comes in. This is where you learn that ‘Experience’ comes in all “shapes and sizes.”
The attempt to get started is where well-intentioned men and women get derailed before they can even move an inch towards their goal. They stop dead at the starting gate and walk it back with all their creative reasons. Let me help you break the seal and sprint forward.
The Bottom Line: The lack of ‘Experience,’ or the lack of knowledge + understanding, are the culprits. The lack of knowledge + understanding generates doubt and fear. The lack of knowledge + understanding about the unknown and the obstacles and pitfalls that accompany them, naturally and indiscriminately intensify self-doubt, anxiety and fear.
Add this to the distress and apprehension brought on by the lack of knowledge + understanding regarding technical or organizational know how, general business protocols, best practice procedures and what it really takes to succeed and, all together, it makes it quite daunting especially if you’re not prepared.
The Key Point: This lack of ‘Experience’, or lack of knowledge and understanding, discourages most attempts to initiate a launch and as a result, immobilization sets in.
No Excuses Alert: If lack of knowledge or understanding was one of your reasons or excuses for not starting a Success Quest I’m here to tell you that you need to rethink that. Please read on.
Here’s the “one critical reason” never to give up: The lack of ‘Experience’ or the lack of any kind of knowledge or understanding should never hold you back from attempting to start your Success Quest because the truth is: You just don’t need to personally have all the ’Experience= knowledge + understanding’ of the questions and situations that you’ll face.
Here’s why:
I recently read an article written by Shelly Palmer. Shelly was ranked as one of LinkedIn’s Top 10 Technology Writers of the Year. His article was about having data knowledge and understanding it and he explained it in terms of being Literate vs. Fluent.
As I was reading Shelly’s article I realized that the concept of Literate vs. Fluent has so many possibilities beyond the digital world.
SECTION FOUR
Let’s Pull it all Together:
To be Literate- you know just enough about something so that you’re able to ask good questions, figure out “knowing what you don’t know” and are able to figure out what needs to be done next. You’re a “generalist.”
To be Fluent- you know a great deal about one subject and chances are you’re an expert in that subject. CPA’s, Lawyers, IT Techs are some examples of being Fluent.
The article describes people with a level of digital “literacy” as someone who knows of the appropriate digital tools needed. It goes on to describe people with a level of digital “fluency” as someone who can take those tools and use them at the appropriate time and place for a desired effect.
THE GOOD NEWS: To get started on your journey and try to achieve “boundless success” you only need to be literate.
People get easily discouraged and “flee” when something looks and feels too difficult in business and in their personal world. Knowing that being “Literate and not Fluent” will be enough to get you to the starting gate and beyond should change your entire perspective on your situation or challenge.
Knowing that you could always hire “Fluent” and being “Literate” will just make it easier for you to find the right person should have a calming effect on you.
Important for you to always remember: Knowing that you could hire experts who are “Fluent” in the subjects and categories that you need information for, is the most important and the most powerful knowledge you’ll ever need to understand. You could always hire or rent “Fluents.”
Knowledge and understanding, in the world we live in today, has never been more available, possible and accessible than it is right know. Anything you need to know is out there on the internet absolutely free.
Just make any simple, single attempt to get to the starting gate. Opening your computer and becoming a “Googlearian” is a powerful and valid initial attempt to move forward. Once you start, the inertia will be replaced by an energy that you never knew existed inside of you.
The energy has many names. “Personal Growth” and ‘Experience’ are just two that immediately come to mind.
Make the attempt to move forward. Strive for what you really want. The knowledge and understanding? It’ll be waiting for you to collect and absorb as you confidently move along on your Success Quest.
A Parting Tip: In life or in business a partnership of a “Literate and a Fluent” is a very powerful union.
A Personal Note:
Ask for help, be creative, be assertive but just do whatever is necessary to overcome and move forward.
You can never ever fail if you unequivocally refuse to give up or give in. You’re not alone. We’re all out there trying to do what you’re doing. Reach out to people.
On the Road Again
When it’s time for all the ‘Information Aggregation’ to shift from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ Phases to the ‘Experience’ Phase, you will have to go from “Just knowing” if you have most, or all, of the information that you need and most, or all, of the information that fills in the blanks to “knowing what you don’t know” . . .to now . . . bearing down and focusing on truly “understanding” all this information and how it affects everything, and I mean everything, about you personally and your entire Success Quest.
CAUTION: You must come to realize and accept the reality that you will come face to face, with minor to humongous information gaps, in the ‘Experience’ Phase, that flowed from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ Phase’s ‘Information Aggregation.’
You must come to realize and accept it? Why?
Here’s “why”:
Number one: Why? The odds are that it will happen, period. Really, but why? Life’s a bitch and shit happens. Last time, why? Information ebbs and flows and is extremely fluid and difficult to plant in any one place for any length of time. “Change” is attracted to information and “Change” is constantly influencing information to do mean and sneaky things like adjusting itself and morphing itself.
In addition, things are just missed and mistakes are just made. As I said earlier, shit happens. Accept this premise as is and I promise, it will pay you with unending financial rewards mixed with high morale and self-confidence dividends throughout your Success Quest.
Number two: Expecting it to happen will motivate you to move forward with “eyes wide open” and be on the lookout for it.
Number three: Knowing and expecting this information gap to present itself gives you the option of getting mentally prepared for an episode or four, or more. Positive expectancy of this information gap will give you the fortitude and insightfulness to know that when it shows itself you’ll be ready to mentally and physically take it on no matter what it is.
The Bottom Line: When you “turn that corner” it will be a moment of , “Ah, here it is. It’s about time. Let’s Look closer at this situation and at the same time, be on the lookout for more missing information gaps” rather than “Oh shit” and waste precious time the next few days performing the “hissy fit.”
ONE MORE TIME: The ‘Experience=Knowledge + Understanding’ maxim is about cumulative ‘Information Aggregation’ and the subsequent ‘Examination’, ‘Assimilation’ and ‘Determination’ of this information that has been gleaned from various sources.
So, What’s Next
How to develop ‘Experience=Knowledge + Understanding’ in order to be able to process and develop all the opportunities you have from the ‘Exploring’ and ‘Experiment’ Phases and have them all undergo ‘Examination’, ‘Assimilation’ and ‘Determination’ and ultimately launched and begin your Success Quest.
Before We Begin: A Reminder
Sorry to repeat myself but, this is a very important “State of Mind” for you to realize and develop:
“Accept the fact that you’re not so smart,” especially, if you really are.
Once Again: The most important point to understand about ‘Experience’ is that ‘Experience’ is being ‘Open-Minded’ to any and all of your research: past, present and future, before passing judgement on its potential for a viable, sustainable Success Quest.
KEY POINT: The number one stumbling block to success in life or business, the absolute number one obstacle, is “Not Knowing What You Don’t Know” AND, “Not trying to do something about it.”
Moving Right Along
Well then, it’s now time to do something about it.
You need to be able to determine which opportunity, or opportunities, you’re going to use as the impetus for your Success Quest. To help and support you, some suggestions and Success Support Tools follow:
Specific “preliminary steps” to take to develop ‘Experience=Knowledge + Understanding’ for ‘The p.e.e.e. Concept’:
a- Lay out all the ‘Information Aggregation’ using ‘The ‘ize’ Application’ to be able to accomplish an effective ‘Examination’, ‘Assimilation’ and ‘Determination’ of all this information:
- Your Success Support Tool for this life-changing event: ‘The ‘ize’ Application’- Recognize, Customize, Prioritize and Actualize. ‘The ‘ize’ Application’ can be found in ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Part #5 persistence, right here on It’s All Possible OR in this article, Chapter 4 ‘Experiment’ Part #3 ‘Evaluation’; Section 9
b- Review the ‘Questions and Shredding’ article here on It’s All Possible.
c-Review all the Success Support Tools discussed in this entire article.
d- Take some time to review my Comprehensive Success Support Guides:
- “The t.r.i.p Concept”: Part #1-Truth; Part #2- Reality; Part #3- Inspiration; Part #4- Positivity
- “The i.m.a.p.p Concept”: Part #1-Inspiration; Part #2-Motivation; Part #3- Action; Part #4-People; Part # 5- Persistence.”
e-Another Premier Success Support Tool, besides “Openness”, that is essential in this final chapter of ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’ is ‘Clarity.’ Clarity Defined: The quality of being clear. The quality of coherence and intelligibility. The quality of being easy to see or hear; sharpness of image or sound.
- For you to be able to discern which emerging opportunities look like they’ll make it off the “drawing board” and on to the starting line and beyond, you must possess a “relatively” unfettered view of your vision, your goals and/or your purpose. They must be “relatively” clear and focused.
- Before you begin, you must develop a “relatively” clear idea of what you want, why you want it and how you’re going to go about getting. You must be “relatively” clear on what you need to focus on. You need “Clarity” on what your Success Quest is going to be about and what it means to you. You need a “Clear Direction.” Possess all this, and “Clarity”, will light the way while on your personal/business Success Quest.
URGENT NOTE: Your committed and continuous “Information Aggregating” will create a flowing “Clarity” ripple effect from the beginning of your Success Quest. It starts off with your vision or goals being “Vaguely Clear”, moves on to “Relatively Clear” and finally should meet up with “Crystal clear.” The bottom line “You don’t have to know everything on day one.”
Corny Example: My Goal today is that “I’m going to the mall and buying something.” I know where it’s located. I don’t know what stores I’ll shop, who I’ll meet or what I’ll buy. It will become clear when I get there and see what’s happening. Of course, your vision and goals should be more precise but you get the picture.
How to energize and develop this “Clarity Flow? Reading this entire article, “Information Part #2: Information Aggregation using ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’: Practice, Exploring, Experimenting, Experiencing,” will accomplish this for you.
“Clarity” will increasingly become more energized and sharpened by the solid information that’s accumulated through your determined “Information Aggregation”. The quality and quantity of your information will determine the velocity of your “Clarity Flow” and its accompanying ripple effect.
“Information Part#1: To Succeed at Anything, You Need to Know How to Get it, How to Use It, Why You Need it” also located here on It’s All Possible.
Please see a full discussion of “Goals” and “Having a Purpose” in ‘The i.m.a.p.p Concept’ Component#5 Persistence here on It’s All Possible.
- I’m planning an article on the subject of “Clarity” but for more information now, check out some articles found on this Google Search: “Clarity and being Successful.”
f- Another Essential Success Support Tool is ‘Questions and Shredding’, found here on Its All Possible.
SECTION SIX
WHATS NEXT? Developing enduring Success Support Tools to enable you to acquire general ‘Experience = Knowledge + Understanding’ for Your Personal and/or Business Success Quest and, specifically for building the ‘Experience’ needed to discern and decide which ideas and opportunities will move on to be the focus of your Success Quest.”
Before we begin
All the Success Support Tools that we’ve discussed in this entire article, Information Part #2: Information Aggregation using ‘The p.e.e.e Concept’: Practice, Exploring, Experimenting, Experiencing, can be used in any situation for Success Support.
They’re not “either or” Concepts or Success Support Tools. They coexist and work together to support you on your personal and/or business Success Quest. They all have their unique use and purpose. They’re all on your side. They belong to a very prestigious group that collectively makes up your Success Support Arsenal. They endure in spite of all your challenges and offer you the unwavering Success Support that’s so crucial to your victorious outcome.
Let’s Begin
1-Look for opportunities for self-discovery: This is about the process of acquiring insight into one’s own character. At the start of your quest, truly knowing your capabilities and who you are is indispensable and certainly a potent “Success Support Tool”. Digging deep and embracing the raw hard truth will empower you. Working with “your reality” and then juxtaposing the reality of your personal and/or business Success Quest will be a powerfully enlightening process that will set you on the right course. For more information, Google: “Self-Discovery”
2-Networking and People: “People”, will be the most impressive source of ‘Experience = Knowledge + Understanding’ for Your Personal and/or Business Success Quest. Personal and Business Opportunities, general and specific information, finding people to join your team, a good doctor for you and your family or new friends, are just a few of the positive amenities offered by networking and people. Joining networking groups is an invaluable Success Support Tool. For more information, Google: “Networking and People”
3-Accept that change is inevitable: Accepting and understanding this fact will allow you to be open and susceptible to new ideas, new situations and new experiences. You’ll be able to welcome “Change” because you’ll understand that it’s not if, but it’s when and where, you’ll bump into it or, it will bump into you. You’ll come to know and understand that ‘Change’ can bring wonderful situations your way, so much so, that you’ll be looking for ‘Change’ and enjoying the process rather than dreading it. For more information, Google: “Change is inevitable“
4-Deal with Reality: A major Success Support Tool that broadens your view of the circumstances around you and helps you to know and understand what the possible consequences of your actions are:
IMPORTANT FACT: When interacting with other people in any situation, there’s always more than one “Reality”
Example: When applying for a job there’s always 1-your “reality” 2- the interviewer’s “reality” and 3- the company’s “reality.” Research about the interviewer and the company is not only a prudent exercise it’s a crucial tool that you bring to the interview.
Family disputes: 1- there’s your “reality” 2- your significant other’s “reality” and 3- the situations “reality.”
THE MAIN POINT: To resolve any situation successfully, only a “middle ground reality” found by making concessions, or a give and take, from all three participants will move the situation to an acceptable outcome. You need to find and agree on, “one reality,” that will be acceptable by all three parties.
For more information, Google: “Working with multiple realities” or read my article on ‘Reality’, here on ‘It’s All Possible’, in ‘The t.r.i.p Concept’ Part 2: Reality.
YOUR MISSION SHOULD BE: ‘Information Aggregation’ of this multi-reality fact will assist you in acquiring invaluable knowledge and understanding of people and negotiating. An earnest education effort of this subject, will add quality Success Support and precocious qualitative ‘Experience’ to your repertoire.
5- Practice being Creative: In life or business we’re always being challenged and “encouraged” to figure things out and make decisions on a daily basis. Practicing being creative keeps the mind tuned and agile.
For more information, Google: “Be Creative”
This enhancement of your creativity will serve you well at home or at work. Interactions and Negotiating with your kids or significant other, your customers, your suppliers and even your landscaper always works out better in the end if you take a few moments and come up with a creative image of all 3 realities intertwined into one acceptable “reality” that you could present.
Practicing “Creativity” (See Chapter one here in this article) at any chance that you can, will enable you to shift and apply it effortlessly when a thorny, or mundane, situation arises that needs a little, or a lot, of imagination and creativity. This exercise will bolster your Experience= Knowledge + Understanding in ways that straight, head on research could never accomplish. It will build your “Mind-Muscles” thus strengthening your thought and reasoning processes.
There is no such thing as an “original idea.” There’s only recycled and upcycled combinations of old ideas. The bottom line: “everywhere you look, you can see innovative combinations of ordinary ideas resulting in extraordinary ideas and solutions.” Try it. Combine ideas. Look for combinations of ideas that might work together. Building off the ideas of others is a great place to start.
6- Examples of ways to gather relevant information:
For more information, Google: “Gathering of Information”
1-Ask Questions: Please see my article on ‘Questions and Shredding.’ Asking the right “Questions” will be your dominant source of Success Support and Management.
2-Be Curious. Ask yourself: How can I change “that” to make it better?
3-Read: Articles and books: Roam the floors of your library.
4-Take walks: Look around you. Be aware. Take notes of things that catch your interest.
5-Join clubs related to the information you need.
6-Kick the use of your 5 Senses into high gear: This refers to the five traditionally recognized methods of perception, or sense: taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing. Wine tasting, new types of food, petting zoos, new hobbies(ceramics) and different types of music are all examples of exploring your 5 Senses.
The bottom line: The above list is only meant to supply a few examples. Obviously being “creative” in how you run your ‘Information Aggregating” process will keep the ideas and information flowing . . . and flowing. . . and flowing.
REMINDER: For more information, Google: “Be Creative”
