I’ve been writing for a fun bunch of years and always free of charge. I write because I love to create and write.
I write for myself. I wrote for many blogs, websites and businesses owned by friends, customers and friends of friends.
I did it all for free in the spirit of friendship and service to my customers, for business development, for networking and for reinforcing and shoring up my personal brand and my business brands.
I owned Two Retail Stores Called “American Natural Directions,” better known as The “A.N.D” Stores. It was a Huge Hit.
It was a new and original garment dye retail concept.
Everything in both stores were a mix n’ match consumer hit.
I designed all the garments. I was our copywriter for the local ads and television ads we ran.
I handled all design, sales and writing for Imprint Alliance Group, a marketing business I owned.
I created and wrote compelling manufacturing production & quality control compendiums and very specialized white papers for my “consultant and advisor to the apparel industry” business.
I wrote detailed reports on my in-depth observations & gave my opinions regarding specific work-in-process and supply chain “snags & quandaries” for domestic and import fashion manufacturers.
My agency, The Sarner Group, helped “popular” to “better” priced apparel companies strengthen their business at the Design, Sales, Production and Distribution levels.

I started to write & create in grade school.
I write & create for friends, I write & create for my businesses and especially, I write & Create to just clear my mind.
I write & create to “talk” things out with myself.
I write to enable focused thinking.
I write for fun. I even write for solving challenges, soothing grief or dealing with hurt. It was, and still remains to be, Uber-Cathartic for me.

When I was 12 years old the “writing & creating” experience became a full-on passion bordering on an obsession.
At 12 years old and in the 6th grade, I ran my own campaign for president of the student body of the entire school, grades K-6.
I made my own campaign posters by cutting pictures out from magazines, pasting them on colored construction paper and coming up with funny “Vote for Barry” lines to add to the posters.
I placed them all over the school walls. We were allowed too.
Every teacher in the school wanted to know which parent or relative made them for me.
According to the teachers, my posters were too funny, too creative and too sophisticated for a kid to have made them.
They told me that to my face as if I was lying to them.
They were blown away when they got confirmation from my mother that it was all me.
I was a huge hit. I became a celebrity in 1964 at P.S. 213 in East New York, Brooklyn, at the ripe old age of 12 years old.
Ah…the good ole’ days!
By The Way, the Beatles came to the USA for the first time on my birthday, February 7, 1964.
Just Sayin’
Oh yeah, I did win the Presidential Race by a landslide. My 4 opponents freaked and said I cheated because of my posters. The teacher told them to basically stuff it and grow up.
The teacher told these four kids that I beat them bad because I did a better job campaigning, I beat their pants and skirts off in the speeches & debates and, my posters were first class and innovative.
He did say “innovative.” I had to look it up in the dictionary.

A couple of lifetimes later and I still love to write.
First & Foremost:
I’m socially adept. I’m an avid & perpetual people observer and people person. I love to meet, listen and talk with people from all over the USA and around the world.
I love to learn new things. I’m a great “beginner.” I love to research, explore, investigate, scrutinize and most importantly, I’m a persistent, nimble, brisk & enthusiastic “student” of innovation, creativity and positivity.
I’m a Thoughtful Inquisitor. I’m an information enthusiast and aggregator.
I’m comfortable asking the tough questions and doing what needs to be done to move a project forward, coherently and creatively.
I want to maintain & sustain my personal growth, my innovative mindset and my divergent and quirky thinking.

I’m also playful in my writing, and especially in my copywriting adventures.
My sentences could intentionally run long at times. I love my sentences to grow meaty for dramatic purposes and I have this quirky game I call my Triadic Word Crescendo. . .
As in: I find it to be Intensifying, Amplifying and Quite Satisfying but, I do know the rules and the proper grammatical protocols for writing & Copywriting a standard article, blog post etc.
I have different writing styles and all of them shine at one time or another depending on I how I feel at the moment.
I do have control over them but it’s a lot more fun to let them rip and take me where they want me to go but:
I’m flexible, team-oriented and adventurous. I can write the way you need me to write.
I want my FUNtastical Imagination, Creative Energy, Writing Aptitude and Mental Agility to all remain sharp, vibrant, spirited, formidable and, forever inspired.
For me, Freelance Writing, and writing in general, is the perfect all around facilitator and inspirational catalyst to make it all happen.

I’m a Seasoned & Accomplished Entrepreneur with many jam-packed years of know-how & street smarts; indisputable experience in business startups, business development and business turnarounds; marketing skillfulness & ingenuity; sales savvy; problem solving & strategizing; innovating, creating and designing; content writing; copywriting; manufacturing expertise and, extensive & diverse leadership experience.

In 1975 right out of Queens College/CUNY, with an Accounting/Economics degree (carrying 12-15 credits each term and working full time and weekends, it took me 5 years to graduate), I went to work as a staff accountant on wall street for E.F. Hutton.
After 8 months, I literally “talked” my way into their first time ever, “One year Stockbroker Training Program for College Graduates.”
The Training Program had many books for “required reading & study” but one book in particular changed my life.
That book, “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, set me on a journey to find everything I could on the topics/subjects of Self-Care, Positivity, Personal Development, Self-Improvement and Success.
